In the end what did Rob Jeter in was... Rob Jeter. One top three finish in the Horizon league in the past 10 seasons is not acceptable. Also, a record of 162-161 and a regular season conference record of 89-83 in the past 10 seasons is just not good enough, plain and simple. I'm optimistic towards the future. I'm sure you are, Amanda. You better be, as your job is hinging on the success of the next men's basketball coach as well. Many of us however are not.

When you make way above the average salary for a mid major Division 1 program. The program should be way above average. UWM Panthers have not been above average for a really long time. Definitely time for a new coach.

Lots of new accounts from athletic department cronies over this one. Yikes.

Good Lord. Between the JS article (alleged) specifics and (mgmt by proxy/quarantine/sabotage?)... my head is about to explode. I am not proud of my university tonight.
IMO: Like Rob Jeter as a coach or not (I happen to think he is a great coach and leader), the way this has been handled is beyond "beyond the pale" and makes the entire university look pretty bad to a whole lot of Milwaukeeans and more importantly- UWM alum. What is going on over there?

I have mixed emotions about this.
What was the point of announcing that there won't be a post season before we were even invited to go anywhere? Braun needlessly ticked off the fans and team. Worse yet, you can bet that whoever she hires will be up against opposing recruiters pointing out that she didn't think a 20 win season and two road wins against Big 10 teams was good enough even for a third rate post season
Then there is angering Nichols. Normally I would say that donors shouldn't dictate policy but did she actually think that people wouldn't have understood a European trip paid for by a booster even in a time of budget cuts?
On the other hand we've consistently outspent all other HL programs. Yet we've had two firsts and one third place finish in 11 seasons. And one of those firsts came with the leftovers of Pearl's teams. That's not acceptable.
I don't like how Braun handled this. I don't know the specifics of what's being said about undermining Jeter. I hope the Athletic Board will investigate and if it's true, let Ms. Braun join RJ in the unemployment line.
But regardless of how or why this decision was reached realize this. UWM didn't advance under Ryan and Pearl because we settled for mediocre. Those of us who've been around for years have worked way to hard for that. But mediocre is what we've had. If you think that's the best we can do, you'll be angry right now. If you see the potential for more, you'll be happy.

If you see the potential for more, you'll be happy. No one - and I mean no one - expected Rob to be coach for more than one year longer. Read the D'Amato article, then go read PantherU when I took her to task. Her email to parents was a bald-faced lie. Parents whose kids have given years of their life to this school. Rob will land on his feet. He will coach again. He might even make it as a head coach at another mid-major one day. Amanda? Well, since she and her cronies are obviously reading this board, let me say this just for her: Wichita State seems a million miles away now, doesn't it?

Allowing Braun to fire Jeter - only to then fire Braun - makes zero sense. It's not going to happen, and she's going to hire the next coach.

I don't know, 97. Maybe.
But this is a pretty big black eye!
I feel terrible that the players -- and donors -- were put in the middle of this. That's the shame!

Players used as pawns in what appears to be a personal vendetta of some sort is a damn shame. They quite literally didn't sign up for it, and certainly don't deserve it. Braun most certainly hasn't acquitted herself well, that is for certain.
I will say what fans here who have cared about this program for many years carry a hell of a lot more weight than a hack like Jeff Potrykus or Gary D'Amato, who has probably spent as much time in Timbuktu as the Klotsche Center.
