Thanks to Rob Jeter and his staff for giving their all for the Panthers for all these years. I didn't always agree with Coach, but I always felt we were a legitimate D1 program with him at the helm. I took comfort in that.
As he said on air today, do the next right thing Rob!

I get a kick out of posts announcing that one is done with the program (hoping I've never done that). No need to announce it, just go away.

Listen to Rob Jeter on WSSP. Handled himself with class. Best of luck to all the staff! Built great relationships.

I will try to fully support our next coach.
It's sad to see Jeter go but I am excited about our future. Jeter was a very nice guy but he just wasn't a big game winner.

I'm done as Panther fan until Braun is gone. The way this all went down was complete bush league and a total slap in the face to the program, and especially the players and fans in particular. Very, very unprofessional move that once again shows that UWM doesn't know what they are doing.
I'm not saying I was 100% happy with everything Rob did as a coach, but to go 184-170 with 2 Regular Season Titles, 2 Conference Tourney Titles, 2 NCAA Appearances, 1 NCAA Tourney Win, 2 other postseason appearances over that 11 years still means a heck of a lot for a program like Milwaukee which had not seen that level of success prior to 2003....heck, when Rob took over in 2005, the program was still only 302-309 all-time as a D1 program (the 1970s D1 seasons included) therefore it is now 486-479 all-time in Division 1. I will not apologize for these 11 years. Yeah, there were quite a few down games and moments, but plenty of exciting moments and games as well. They went 20-13 this year and were one of the unluckiest teams in the country this year yet I still ENJOYED this season despite all those close losses.
Yeah he wasn't Bruce Pearl, but guess what? Only Bruce Pearl is Bruce Pearl. The past 15 years was just about the best 15 year span in program history. The program followed the best coach in it's history with the 2nd-best. There is nothing wrong with that at all. Yeah, the APR ban stunk but guess what? It very nearly also happened in 2005-06! Had the NCAA not granted a first year waiver of the postseason ban to teams, the APR score from 2004-05 season would have cost the 05-06 team an NCAA bid!
I HATE this win at any cost attitude that has seeped into the college ranks from the professional sports level.

Jeff potrykus just tweeted that our athletic department was a trainwreck. Who cares? His opinion holds no more relevance than any other non-UWM beat writer.

Total insanity:
Regardless of anyone's feelings on Rob, we should be up in arms about Braun like we were about Koonce. If not more so.

Great article. Pretty much sums it up why a lot of us are pissed off.
It's not really the firing itself. It's the way it's been handled and how she's handled the department.
Now that Jeter is gone, Braun needs to go next. I don't see how you can keep a clearly unpopular AD.
Then make that call to Nebraska and try to get the guy we should have hired in the first place.

KABOOM!!!!!!! We should demand a conference with the chancellor, asking for Braun's immediate termination! -- signed Paul Spicuzza

Maybe people's anger should go to Phyllis King as she was demanding for the Amanda Braun hire.

In the end what did Rob Jeter in was... Rob Jeter.
One top three finish in the Horizon league in the past 10 seasons is not acceptable. Also, a record of 162-161 and a regular season conference record of 89-83 in the past 10 seasons is just not good enough, plain and simple.
I'm optimistic towards the future.
