My crazy as hell will never happen in a million years but why not throw it out there idea; Miller Park Now comes the what are you thinking comments... For hockey? Depends on the deal we can get (if they offer one at all) and how the rink would be set up. I'm skeptic there would be a setup that could rival our own rink. Crowd noise is lost even with the roof closed and you'd need to bring in temporary seating for half the crowd (or only have seating on one side). It's worth looking into though.

My crazy as hell will never happen in a million years but why not throw it out there idea; Miller Park Not trying to come down on you gman, but when are people going to realize that Miller Park after October CAN NOT be used for anything! That stadium was never winterized and the heating system could not handle any sort of event. People need to come off the idea that Miller Park is a viable option to host any type of winter or early spring event, not going to happen unless Mark A decides to totally re-do the heating system and plumbing, that is why Miller Park does not host any NCAA tourney games, it is why the Admirals have not tried to use it for any outdoor game and it is why none of those will happen until those things are changed and if you are expecting that to happen there is some nice beachfront property in AZ that im sure someone would love to try and sell you. Again not trying to single you out gman but this keeps getting brought up by people and I have no idea why when it is not possible.

If we are the 3 to 5 seed, we would probably get a waiver to play our first round game there. Why could the Panthers not play their first round game at the Cell on Feb.28 (Tue)? Disney on Ice isn't untill March 1 (Thurs.)

I mentioned this to my Dad tonight. He like the majority of Milwaukeeans/alumni have no idea of this conflict. He was disappointed, yet unsurprised. The WCD has had a long history of screwing over Milwaukee Basketball teams.
The Bucks during their 1971 Championship season were forced at several occasions to play regular season games in Dane County Coliseum. During the Playoffs that year, the Arena was hosting a "Home Show" and both the Arena and the the Show sponsors refused to move the dates forcing the BUcks to beat the San Francisco Warriors 3 times in UW-Madison's Field House.
If the WCD wouldn't make accommodations for an NBA Championship team to have their "home" arena available, what are the chances they would ever help us out?
I would assume the BC would have the same capabilities as other arenas in that, they could place a BBall floor on top of ice. If we were to move up the start times of the quarter and semi-final games to say noonish there would be enough time to prepare the BC for the Admirals games that evening(s).

The '71 Bucks played games in Madison??? Wow. Just wow. This WCD deal is a recurring nightmare.
We have to assert our status as an urban D-I up-and-coming university and get control over our facilities (practice and game facilities). UWM isn't exactly Herzing University (no offense meant to online schools).
As disturbing as this sounds, it will mean nothing if we don't get the #1 seed. But... should we get that seed.... Holy Guacamole. What a sad and depressing joke our "cordial business relationship" with the WCD has become.

1. The last year for the old format was 2002 (The first year for the HL). UWM (That was also Bruce Perl's first year) played in Cleveland and lost its opening game. Butler and CSU alsoi lost in the opening Round, and the fans (except me) stayed home. WE hosted the HL Tournament in 2003. It is interesting because we were scheduled to host the Tournament anyhow. 2. Aren't we over reacting. It's not like we would have to face the 2 Seed in their place. (Or like in Bo Ryan's case we had to face WSU on their court.)

(3) Milwaukee lost to (6) UIC in the quarterfinals in 2002. That was the year two Chicago teams played the title game in front of 50 of their closest friends in Cleveland, and Butler getting shut out of the NCAAs after losing as the top seed to Green Bay in the quarterfinals. Thus prompting the double-bye to protect top seeds and putting the meaningful games at the highest seed remaining in order to avoid the embarrassing crowd like that night in 2002.

That 2002 tournament was such a clusterf***. Three of the four higher seeded teams lost in the quarterfinals, and was almost all four:
First Round (8) Green Bay 86, (9) Youngstown State 65
Quarterfinals (5) Loyola 90, (4) Wright State 64 (8) Green Bay 49, (1) Butler 48 (2) Detroit 67, (7) Cleveland State 63 (6) UIC 75, (3) Milwaukee 68
Semifinals (5) Loyola 63, (8) Green Bay 57 (6) UIC 75, (2) Detroit 68
Championship (6) UIC 76, (5) Loyola 75 (ot)

Yeah, with the difference between Horizon League 1995-2002 and 2003-present, I think I'll take the current format thank you.

Hack: If you check my original Post I did NOT say that UWM lost to CSU. The Game against UIC was in Cleveland at the Wolstein Center (If it was known as that then). But I did say that CSU also lost its opener.

Misread. Apologies.
That had to be a fun tourney to be at, unless you were a higher seed.

Hack: On the off night I went to a Sports Bar, near the Wyndham. Ran into a Sixers scout. He was on the "Season on the Brink" Team (85/86). He went to see the Butler Game , and then didn't go back. You could tell that he felt very highly about Bobby Knight. Said he had no interest in watching the Movie, except to see if they got the players names right.
