Was that a travel or a Horizon League pivot?

Overpriced, mediocre food with sh*t service and tap beer in plastic cups? Pass. Majors blows. wait, just to be clear you AREN'T talking about bombers? Must really not like drinking out of plastic cups! The peanuts on the floor are smarter than the peanuts behind the bar charging $4 for a bottled Miller product.

You have your preferences. I have mine. I'm sure Goolsbys will live on without me.

If you request a glass mug they will give you one (I also do not prefer plastic cups and have done this before more than once). I've never had bad service at Goolsby's (love the wings and Major Cheeseburger).
I just love Goolsby's through and through. A lot of nostalgia in that building and always good sports conversation with random in-town and out-of-town folks and bartenders. Good times, good times at Goolsby's..
But as Hack said, we do all have our preferences.

Never really got the hype of Goolsby's. SI or whoever it was called it one of the best sports bars in America, which I don't see at all. Always wanted to try AJ Bomber's, The Travel Channel says they have Milwaukee's best burger, but if I need to get there 2 hours ahead of time, I'll pass on it this Saturday. My kingdom for a place downtown with good food at good prices with all the games on. Asking a lot I know...

Haha, I'm well aware, King. I'll probably be downing one before the WMU game.

Back to the game... Where is dylan's pre-game analysis? We know they lost three key players. Farokhmanesh, Adam Koch, and Eglseder (the 7-footer). I'm looking at their roster, they only have 4 Juniors and Seniors. Is this a rebuilding year for them? They were picked to finish 3rd, but we know that doesn't mean much.

The last time I did pre-game analysis, the Panthers lost by 20.
Maybe I'll take the day off and do a little pregame priming at one of the local pubs.

Well, I just have a feeling we are going to win this one. Don't know why, just a feeling.

Don't expect anywhere close to the pace of the last game.
Against a team that defends like UNI, intelligent play is a must.

Here's a question, guys: would you want a shuttle bus, say, from a campus bar to the game and back where all you need to do is buy two drinks?

Here's a question, guys: would you want a shuttle bus, say, from a campus bar to the game and back where all you need to do is buy two drinks? Or a menu item? Most definitely. That is my only gripe about moving back to campus. I would like to be able to grab a bite to eat before the game, but it would not be cool at all to have to drive to Replay's (or somewhere like it), eat, then either walk 1.5 miles or pay a cab or [worst] have to get back in the car and drive the 9 or so blocks to the Arena. A shuttle would be key to solving this. I know not everyone likes to make a big deal out of going to the game (ie. pre-Game/post-Game) but I think it's important to a significant % of our fan base. My Dad and I went to the UIC game last year, and while we were impressed with the Pavillion, we walked around in a 5 block radius and could not find a single place to eat. We ended up eating at a crappy Subway somewhere on the outskirts of the Pavillion neighborhood. Gotta have a good bar & grill type hangout (like Goolsby's or the old Turner, or Ace Bombers, whatever) for before the game if you want to create a full college basketball game experience.

The Black Rose has some decent food and bar prices, plus they just opened a pizza place right next door that is connected and is actually really good too. It's not that far from campus (Oakland and Locust). It is almost always just college kids there though so that might be a downside.

That place was Oakland Trattoria long before they constructed the Black Rose. I haven't been to the new pizza place, but I miss my Trat.
