At the luncheon today RJ said he might actually have a few wrinkles in mind for Wisconsin -- but didn't want to say what they were since there were "a few Madison guys in the room." He might have been kidding, but it was interesting to hear, anyway. On matchups, he did say that after thinking about it he's just going to play Joah straight up against Alando. Now that might be fun to watch. There WERE some UW Madison guys there. I was sitting next to one of them and I can tell you he was listening intently to every word RJ said about the game. He talked like the UNC game was a fluke. He said "We had 45 minutes to prepare after the MU game and the guys were sky high after that win." He did however say that UNC is a very good team and mentioned their 12 point win over Northwestern. I don't know who he was but he and Asst. Coach Duffy were having a good time chatting with each other. Duffy kept telling him that he better not be taking notes. That's why Duffy didn't really answer question about potential matchups. The guy might be a big booster or some administrator in the AD. He said he caught the game on TV at riding a bike in an exercise room at a hotel.

It's not a bad idea to throw an inbound harassment press at UW to take some time off the shot clock. The Badgers aren't executing the offense very quickly yet. UNCW had a lot of success with that.
I agree thaat RJ has the advantage of knowing the weaknesses of the Badger players -- and some of them definitely have xploitable weaknesses.
I really don't know how to pick this game. UW is bigger and more talented and at home. That to me is a 12 point spread. But UWM is older and, I think, a little tougher.
Let's hope it's a donnybrook.

With the knowledge of UW-Madison and their players that Jeter has...I agree he will try to exploit weakness, but if we dont follow through on that plan its no good to us.
We do have a the age advantage and I think we might want it just a bit more, to prove we can beat a BigTen team.
With a win only good comes from it, a road win in a very tough arena against a top 5 BigTen school. Should be a good one for sure.

Yeah I’m not sure which Tucker is better A.T. is having a good year but only statistically I mean he is averaging 17.4 points but that is a little misleading with the 38 pts he dropped on E. Kentucky so I think when it comes down to the big games our Tucker is better!!

I think Alando vs. Joah is an interesting matchup of undersized forwards, but overall Alando is the better player. He may have little arch on his shot, but he can still hit the 3 and in my opinion is a little better around the basket than Joah. Alando also is only a Junior and just has amazing athleticism. I love Joah to death, but he just doesn't have the same god given gifts as Alando(and that is saying a lot since Joah is so athletic). If Joah plays like he did against Alabama, BC, or Illinois last year in the tournament I think he could possibly outplay Alando tomorrow night, we will just have to see if that happens.
On a side note I read earlier this week that Brian Butch had slightly injured his knee against UNCW. So I'm guessing he will be a step slow on the defensive end. Hopefully this will lead to getting Badger players in foul trouble (which is next to impossible while playing them at Kohl Center).

yeah i'd say he's a step slow ;D in the crappy Badgers weekly report they said he didn't practice on tuesday b/c of his leg. could be interesting if he doesn't play much or at all.

I have heard through some sources that he may have tweaked an ankle. I would expect him to play.
You can laugh at Butch's lack of speed, but if UWM had him it would be the prohibitive favorite in the Horizon. Hallelujah if we should ever get a player like Brian to become a Panther.

Jeter wants OUR Tucker to be more aggressive going to the hole. If he does that in this game, it will be an extremely interesting matchup between the two Tuckers.

Brian Butch hurt again! What a joke. I have watched that kid play his whole life and he is always supposedly hurt. Always has something wrong with him. Usually, he uses it as an excuse if he has not had a good game previously. He would puke on the side of the court during high school games and tell everyone he didn't think he could play because he was sick. This happened more than once. Funny thing was that he wasnt really sick. He is a great player, but he could also have a very promising career in the drama field.
