Well here's some good news. Thursday's game has some hype: msn.foxsports.com/cbk/story/5162750To be one of the best matchups of the week is always good. Now here's praying that it's a good game. I don't expect the panthers to win this, but they need to make it a good game.

The UNC Wilmington team is not bad.
In fact they were 7 and 1 going into tonight's game. Their only loss was to Colorado on the road.
They beat Butler (75-59), Northwestern, Wyoming, and William and Mary along with some other teams all on the road. Their only home games were against North Texas and VCU and they won them both.

Today's reading is from the Book of Hockey Yeah the mighty Wisconsin Badgers were ranked #1. Upon the field of battle, the forces of lowly Michigan Tech gathered. Although they skateth through the valley of the Kohl Center they were not afraid. Scorn was heaped upon their heads, "How canst thou think thy can beat us with weaker players? Thou does not skateth as strongly as us. Thou is not faster. Thou is not bigger. Thou has won but two games. We are ranked #1" But lowly Michigan Tech reached in itself. Its players raiseth their sticks and they silenced the crowd and humbled the mighty Badgers winning a two goal victory. The moral of the story: Anything can happen guys Yeah and the badgers came out the next night and beat the crap out of them literally and figuratively stomping them 7-0 It will take a great performance on Thursday to get the win but there is an outside chance that it could happen. Oh also Badgers at the the hawaii game DeAaron "I look like 50 cent minus the bullet holes in my face" Wiliams and Mickey Perry uwbadgers.com/sport_news/mbb/bios/bio.aspx?id=Williams_DeAaron_mbb&sport=mbb

I wish we played UW after the Marquette game rather than after UNCW. Would've been nice to be the "let down game". Instead they are going to come out on all cylinders and go nuts on us. We'll prolly get our typical 10:00 to go surge to make it close, ultimately falling hard on our faces. I'd take a loss like that in stride as we're learning.

I offer no insight on the UW game. Every year I get excited, each year we add another 10points to the deficit. Then I make statements that we need to drop the UW series (it's true, drop them for a quality mid-major). I dominate smiley faces. Few can match my ability to insert them to stress my points. ;D See what I'm saying? What? Bored, writing papers. Well freak just to mess with paul haha i say we loose by 100 and hopefully we some how pull off a win

I've only been to 2 games, Tennessee tech and South Dakota. At the Tech game they seemed realize towards the end that they had a game on their hands and didn't kick in soon enough. The South Dakota game though, they looked like a basketball machine that could turn it up to 10 any time they wanted. Some parts even looked like they were toying with the rabbits. If they come out wide open from the start they may surprise the Badgers. I just wish the home fans would stop looking at me funny when I am the only one hootin for the Panthers!

Madison's size is going to be a huge problem for us. We're going to need to send all five guys to the defensive boards. And we have been terrible shooters at the Kohl Center for years, no performance more embarrassing than last season. If we can somehow knock down some looks early and get some points in transition, we have a decent shot. I just think UW has a little too much, especially at home coming off a sub-par performance.
UW-Madison 75, UWM 63

I have been lurking around these boards for a while now and finally joined. It is great so see such enthusisam for UWM. As for the Wisconsin game. I predict a heartbreaker. I think it will be up and down with the Badgers pulling away in the final minutes. I was a Freshman the last time they beat Madison and I would love to see them do it again.

repoman: I, too, was a freshman that year and had the good fortune of attending the game in person. Seeing Craig Greene and Marc Mitchell light up Michael Finley and Tracy Webster was unforgettable.

At the luncheon today RJ said he might actually have a few wrinkles in mind for Wisconsin -- but didn't want to say what they were since there were "a few Madison guys in the room." He might have been kidding, but it was interesting to hear, anyway.
On matchups, he did say that after thinking about it he's just going to play Joah straight up against Alando.
Now that might be fun to watch.

(besides Ryan naturally). a Tucker vs. Tucker matchup should be interesting to say the least.

Seeing Joah vs. Alando straight up would be fun to watch, but since this game is at Madison, I'm almost positive Joah would have 3 fouls by halftime . Hey Fran, didn't GB thow a 2-1-2 - trap at half court press that caused WI to have some trouble in the first half?

Are there any informal Panther Pre-game gatherings planned? I have never been to a game there. I know State Street Brats is a few blocks away. Great Dane Brew Pub would be perfect but it's a bit of a walk to the Kohl Center. Essen Haus would be festive but again probably too far to walk. Any ideas?
