We should not drop the UW game. Its good for the state and offers a game for many to get very excited about. We need more quality mid-majors on our non-conf. sched but they should be replacing the SDSU games or Upper Iowa games not the Wisconsin game.

I think big brother UW-Madison is going to get the best of us. I don't like to say that but I just don't think UWM has it together on offense yet. I sure hope they prove me wrong...

Madison is strictly related through marriage. I refuse to consider them our big brother.
But yes, I too think they will get the best of us. Considering that we have only continued to increase our deficit each game, I assume that the line must be around 40 points this year.
Luckily Ryan will refuse to embarass us now that Jeter is the head coach. I expect a 15-18pt defeat, but I could be wrong.

I wouldn't mind seeing RJ try to turn up the tempo a bit though, because UW is S-L-O-W. AGREED!

We need to execute perfectly on offense and play amazing defense. I wouldn't mind seeing RJ try to turn up the tempo a bit though, because UW is S-L-O-W. what do u mean 3 white guys 6'10"+ are slow? UW's size will be a problem for us and Chappell could be problematic on defense and crashing the boards. from the games i've seen (which isn't much) they don't seem to have that much athleticism outside of Chris Rock and Landry. i don't think Krabbenhoft will do much unless the height differential becomes a problem. i hope Art isn't in attendance otherwise security might have to form a perimeter around Tanner Bronson. i agree w/ whoever said that we might need to play a lil faster this game too. i don't see us winning but i definitely think we'll play better this game. we'll need Tigert, Tucker and Davis to bring their best.

Don't worry I've been seeking therapy for my Bronson hatred. Its probably a good thing I have finals the following morning otherwise I might lose it. The Tanner Bronson 12-step program is still a work in progress.
The Badgers have a lot more athleticism than you may guess. You didn't mention that man freak named Alando Tucker, Micheal Flowers, or good old Ray "junk grab" Nixon. All those players are just as good or superior to our own players.
The Badgers have way too much depth for us to handle. They go 10 deep with little drop off in quality, so I'm going to be a pessimist and say we lose by 17.
If we keep this game with in 10 or win I'm going to be incredibly happy. The Badgers will be a top 25 team this season, and if we win this I'm going to rub it in my friends faces that attended UW-Madison until the day they die (or the day they kill me).

You know, I really don't know what to think about this game. A part of me what's to optimistic, but the realist in me says no chance.
So, with that in mind, here's some things that i think MUST happen for us to win. Granted, we could do all of this and lose, but we must accomplish these goals first:
1. Match Madison in rebounding. Yes, they are big, but I think we showed on Sat. that we can rebound against a bigger team. I don't think we need to win the rebounding battle (sure would be nice, though) but we can't get blown off the glass, either. 2. Hit our open threes. We will get open looks, and it's imperative that we knock them down. Related to that, we better make our layups, too. 3. Limit turnovers, and keep Chris Hill out of foul trouble. I think if Chris has to sit for extended periods of time, and we need to rely on Avery or Al Hanson to bring the ball up the court, we could find ourselves in trouble.
I'm sure there's more, but those are three things we need to do, IMO.
Plus, if Joah coulld have a huge night, that would be nice.

great points Lou, I'd like to add that the Panthers will need to get to the free throw line, hit their free throws, and limit the number of free throw attempts they give the Badgers.

................and Bennett ball makes a return for at least 1 night. At the half: UW - 16 UNC-Wil 16 Ouch I kind of wish the struggles would have waited 1 more game.

Today's reading is from the Book of Hockey
Yeah the mighty Wisconsin Badgers were ranked #1.
Upon the field of battle, the forces of lowly Michigan Tech gathered. Although they skateth through the valley of the Kohl Center they were not afraid.
Scorn was heaped upon their heads, "How canst thou think thy can beat us with weaker players? Thou does not skateth as strongly as us. Thou is not faster. Thou is not bigger. Thou has won but two games. We are ranked #1"
But lowly Michigan Tech reached in itself. Its players raiseth their sticks and they silenced the crowd and humbled the mighty Badgers winning a two goal victory.
The moral of the story: Anything can happen guys

Alando Tucker's not athletic?

whoops, i thought i mentioned tucker but obviously i failed to mention him. yes he's definitely athletic. there could be more athleticism on that team then i mentioned but like i said, i haven't watched much of them so my knowledge is limited. GB was hard to scout IMO b/c it seemed that UW just went through the motions in the first half and combine that w/ GB's cold streak in the 2nd, wasn't really that impressed. i thought they should've won by much more.

Get back on board, Panther fans. This result tonight should certainly quell the prophesies of doom and gloom for the Badger game. No more silly predictions of 40-point losses, OK? I figure that UW-Madison, playing at the Kohl Center, will be installed as something like a 9-point favorite. I believe this is a fair spread and a very realistic objective.
