Brian- I hope you didn't think I said you called TT on Ron Wolf disciple. I've heard people say it in the media and elsewhere, I wasn't referring to you specifically.
Re: Grant. Great trade by Thompson, but here's the thing: if Vernand Morency doesn't get hurt all through training camp and in the beginning of the year, no way Thompson trades for him. He needed bodies and hit the jackpot on Grant. Nobody thought he was is good as he was, and he still didn't get regular playing time until both Wynn and Brandon Jackson got hurt. He was pretty much the last man standing and took advantage of his opportunity.

For Sapp to file his retirement papers on the same day Favre holds a presser to officially announce his retirement was not a smart move if he was hoping for a lot of attention and coverage. Maybe his timing was purposeful for the reason that he didn't want a lot of press coverage. Who knows? I'm sure if he would've waited a week or so...he'd have received a ton more attention. Your timing is off a little. Sapp actually announced his retirement twice in January. Favre didn’t do his presser on Tuesday. Sapp officially filed papers on the same day that Jay Glazer broke the story about Favre that Chris Mortenson confirmed. Whether Sapp’s papers were filed previous to Favre telling Glazer he was tired is debatable. Whether Sapp retiring in early January should have been covered more is less debatable. Now on to Nighthawk who seems to have a problems with being wrong far too often.

To piggy back on the whole UNBELIEVABLY inaccurate idea that Favre owns every passing record (still laughing at that thought), here's a list of of every NFL record recognized by the league (changes during this current season not included). You might want to email the league and tell them how wrong they are since you clearly know more than them...especially with all those rookie records Favre broke www.nfl.com/history/randf/records/indiv/passingFavre should enjoy them while he can b/c Peyton Manning is just about a handful of years away from breaking just about all of them.

For the record, this is why you don't ever argue with Bucs fans. ;D I suppose the records Favre does hold are inconsequential. Sorry I brought up that he has the most wins, TD's, completions, attempts, yards, consecutive starts, consecutive playoff games with a TD and consecutive 20+ TD seasons. I should have said every major record.

For the record, this is why you don't ever argue with Bucs fans. ;D Don't argue with people who are competent. Some of your Packer fans may overlook your gaffes because they are in your favor. I suppose the records Favre does hold are inconsequential. Sorry I brought up that he has the most wins, TD's, completions, attempts, yards, consecutive starts, consecutive playoff games with a TD and consecutive 20+ TD seasons. I should have said every major record. Neither Holic nor myself ever belittled the records that Favre does hold. We did not call them inconsequential, irrelevant or small by any means. Please do not mischaracterize our arguments. Your statistical categories are not correctly narrowed either. As noted previously, Favre owns the career records for those statistics. He does not own the season records, nor the single game records for many of them (if not all of them). If wins is a major record (as you have it listed), wouldn't Super Bowl titles won also be a major record? Is that just another record he holds amongst the major ones? Which ones are the major ones? What I am getting at is that "every major record" is again a gross over statement. You are belittling the achievements of Steve Young, Peyton Manning, Joe Montana, Fran Tarkenton, Bart Starr, etc. Favre, a 3-time MVP, does hold many career passing records, many of them attributed to his nearly insurpassable superhuman durability. His presence and likable character will be missed.

Good lord I've never seen someone's argument filled with so many hyperboles. Neither fan nor I ever said the records Favre does hold aren't impressive because they are. However to say he holds "every major record" is also false because he doesn't hold them at either the single game or single season records. Again, the records he does have are impressive, no doubt, but "every major record" is not only wrong but also extremely subjective.

I guess, it's a question of what you consider to be "major records." I think career records are more important than single season records. I've seen enough athletes who have one great year and then fade.
It's all semantics anyway. Some of us consider Farve to be the best QB to ever play the game and others don't. In the end it's all opinion.
