I got three words: Kareem Abdul Jabbar. 😀 the appeal would be obvious. one of the greatest basketball players to ever step on a court, the greatest Milwaukee Buck ever- and the only one even remotely in the same conversation is the Greek Freak- and would come in with universal name recognition and respect. On the other hand three questions immediately spring to mind: Has Kareem had ANY coaching experience? 2 would he even consider the job. and 3. Could he relate to players at least 50 years younger than him, who werent born until almost 15 years after he played his last NBA game? Nick, it's just a running joke that goes back to when someone suggested him as a coaching candidate decades ago. He wasn't serious.

The unfortunate truth is that during our current AD’s tenure the job has become immensely less attractive than it was only a few years ago. And there are no Wisconsin based D2 or D3 coaching legends waiting for a call as there had been previously.
We absolutely have to have someone who knows what the hell they are doing making the next hire. And that person needs to be in a position to assure that next coach that things are going to change very, very radically on Downer Avenue and in Chapman Hall to support the program.

Fran, we know. We know. We know. We know.
Ideally, we all agree. It's the practical part that has many doubting there will be relevant house cleaning any time soon. Again, ideally we want that.

It's a joke, son. One that i like to think has become my joke on this board... Haha I’ve lurked around here to understand the reference. But why would Kareem Abdul Jabbar want to coach at Milwaukee when he could take a chance and go after the job that is the envy of all NCAA coaches at Fairleigh Dickinson?

If the Fairleigh Dickinson job is open, Kareem will have competition from PMCK.

I'm sure that pmck's thought process was "Why wait 17 years to see Milwaukee's utter collapse? I'll get out well ahead of this by disrespecting them now!!!"

Who else remembers this gem? "We need to get up to speed with the more athletic teams in the conference like Detroit and UIC."

How about this one after a 30-point shellacking at Washington? "They smelled our obvious quality!"

Jeter had Hall of Famer and jersey retirement candidate Brad Carroll and could only finish in 5th place many of his years.

ok, Sophie's Choice of the day -
If we only had two choices would we take Coach Baldwin or pmck
Now to make it more interesting would we take Jeter or pmck....certainly pmck's number of first place and upper three finishes at both stops is far beyond Jeters although Jeter had the NCAA appearance

Don't get us all riled up again about the aforementioned former MKE coach. Jimmy told us in large capital letters that this isn't about him.
