I think this deserves it's own thread. Hat tip to Jimmy for finding and posting it earlier.

I posted this earlier in the PBJ recruitment thread but this thread is more to the point:
If the program had more relevance, this story (PBJ's withdrawn tweet about attending the Bucks game on the same day as the Panthers game against Wright State) would be investigated and reported. Could you imagine the scrutiny if this would be about Aaron Rodgers, for example? This is why administrative leadership at UWM prefers athletic program irrelevance. No relevance means no scrutiny which further means no need for accountability. For us fans, that means no consequences for program failure. I thought PBJ's commitment to the program would at least give it relevance. I even started a "Relevance" thread here on this message board after PBJ committed. Todd Rosiak, or someone at JS, where are you?
On the other hand, I'm not sure the reason for PBJ's absence was OFFICIALLY reported by the program as Covid. After a recent game, PBS stated PBJ was "getting better." To me, that sounds more like an "injury" than being on Covid protocol. I quoted "injury" because of the skepticism of how that word is being used by this program.
I usually disagree with conspiracy theories that some posters have suggested on here. In general though, when one is untruthful, it can be difficult to convey a consistent explanation for something. At the very least, there is a "red flag" regarding PBJ's status and how the program deals with it's fan base, supporters and the media.

I just filled out my season ticket survey from the Milwaukee athletic office. Suffice it to say that my harsh criticism of the coach, team, program, and university regarding this program makes it fairly unlikely I’ll win the court side tickets.

This is a load of crap with either scenario. 1 - if he has Covid, why is he at the Bucks game? 2 - if he is merely injured why is he not at the game with his team?
Seems like staying home and playing for his dad is really just a break year before going to the draft. Seems like a dumb move in my opinion. No real investment in really playing for his dad or being part of a team regardless if it is a blue chip program or Milwaukee.

You went to left field on the improvements could enhance your experience. The question were about the ticket office, promos, videoboard, security & ushers. Factors why you attend or not attend games.

You assume we give a flying f*** what the intent of their survey was. I hope you're the only one who follows the 'spirit' of the survey and tells them whatever the hell you care about regarding irrelevant sh*t like what's on the video board. That way you'll win the courtside tickets. I, for one, will be referring to PBJ as "PTP" from now on. Part-time Pat has a nice ring to it. What would enhance my experience is if every player on this team, coach on the sideline, and employee in the athletic department approached their job with the balls-to-the-wall enthusiasm that Dree Gholston does every game.

How ironic considering the title of this thread that radio broadcasts of Panther men's basketball have moved to a station called "The Truth." LOL.

I just filled out my season ticket survey from the Milwaukee athletic office. Suffice it to say that my harsh criticism of the coach, team, program, and university regarding this program makes it fairly unlikely I’ll win the court side tickets. You went to left field on the improvements could enhance your experience. The question were about the ticket office, promos, videoboard, security & ushers. Factors why you attend or not attend games. The question that was asked was what factor(s) would impact whether I go to games. I have no problems with the ticket office… Adam and Julius have been very easy to work with when I give them a call or email. I don’t care about the promos too much, nor the video board. Security is no worse than Admirals games or Brewer games now, so I have no problem with them. The ushers always seem to be friendly (in my experience at both Panther and Admiral games at the arena). The only time I ever consider buying concessions is when they had the tacos and soda for $5 deal… I’m the first to admit I’m a bit of a cheapskate in that sense. But one of the options was “Team Performance”. I elaborated and said that the team has consistently been pretty awful since PBS was hired as coach, and based on publicly available information, his contract is up after this year. If he is retained for whatever reason, it would make me reevaluate whether I want to invest my time and season ticket money in the program anymore. And the deception from the athletic department makes it feel like the athletic department is taking their dwindling fan base as fools. If I feel like I’m being deceived enough, maybe I won’t invest my time and season ticket money in the program anymore. I feel like I answered the question honestly. If I said something like “concession prices are too high” or “the ticket staff is unhelpful”, I would be lying, and what good would that do? I basically said that team performance is the main reason I’d consider not going to games anymore, and if the university didn’t show any effort in trying to fix that, that would be the reason I’d stop going.

The only explanation that makes sense and that would make all parties look ok in this situation would be that PBJ cleared Covid protocol on Saturday morning, and getting him to Highland Heights in time for the game would be impossible. Seeing as this has been a topic of discussion on this board, and nobody from the athletic department (not even those who already occasionally post on the board) has said a word to diffuse the discussion, something is fishy.

In the past injured players dont travel to away games. This has been the thing all season. Last night in Green Bay there was no samba or Vincent who is ineglible. So nothing is off about pbj not being with the team for nku and wsu.

The bigger question is what is going on with him injury wise? He is obviously not right physically or else is just not engaged and disinterested. Wonder if he even considers shutting it down and nursing his body to get in best shape for becoming a millionaire next year. Nothing would surprise me., Like the college football players opting out of bowl games and forsaking their teammates to protect their earning power. It is what it is ....only thing is does not help his dads cause here but that may be a fait accompli anyway
