Are we absolutely certain that his father isn't going to be (or hasn't already been) retained? As incompetent as AB and this administration has been it’s not bad enough to retain PBS. Y’all gotta relax a little bit with this idea.

With 9 home games left. Not living up what Kenpom and other pre season expections. Panthers stand to lose 20k to 25k in single game ticket sales. With tickets between $11 to $25. That could be around $450,000 in tickets sales. Think about it. Ouch!!!

I don’t understand your math. That would imply something like 3,000 lost fans per game. This program hasn’t seen 3,000 people at a game In the last six years. There was utterly no chance it would have seen it this year no matter what happened with PBJ. When you spend six years insulting and driving away your fan base with lies and bad basketball they don’t just suddenly pop up again out of nowhere.

What's not to understand. Home opener was over 4,300. 20k over 9 remaining home games if the team was winning and the PBJ hype played out. Even, 10k to 15k. Fine. Lots of lost money is the point.

There was noticeably more people in the very first couple home games we had and I think it could have grown quite a bit. 4-4.5k per game would not have been a wild expectation*. We took any renewed interest in this program and flushed it.
*save this note for the lender/bank financing Panther Arena!

So our men's basketball program is being run by a LIAR. As they say, birds of a feather flock together.

The “PBJ hype” was never going to “play out” the way a few fantasizing fans here thought it would or could. The inertia caused by years of sabotage and incompetence was far too powerful for him to change the trajectory of the program. He has no control over the dead weights sinking this ship. They have been there for years.
Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a magic bullet like that? There’s not. You want a good program again? It will have to start at the top, and will require years of good leadership and careful stewardship and rebuilding both on and off the court. Imagining that the shoulders of a skinny 18 year old were broad enough to carry that load was both ludicrous and totally unfair to him.

Too much credit is given to the administration by saying it lied, sabotaged, etc. This implies a strategy that requires planning and execution. I don't give the institution that much credit. I think it is simply incompetence stemming from apathy and dysfunction that has plaqued the institution throughout it's history, with occasional rare exception(s) like during the Zimpher era.
Regardless, it leads us to the same conclusion. The culture has to change. We've been talking about this seemingly forever. Before that happens, we are left with hoping a blind squirrel finds a nut. What else can we as fans do short of becoming the next T-Bone Pickens?

Top administration does not have a clue I agree and political correctness reigns. Conversely, don't underestimate Amanda Braun for a high degree of cunning and intelligence when it comes to playing the game and the system. I have spent 40+ years in corporate world developing strategic plans and I can smell the buzz words, slogans and obfuscation a mile away. Take a look at the latest updated Path to Prominence which is scaled down and more oblique. I love some of the goals like Diversity and Inclusion, Staff development etc. Really tough targets there like "we have a meeting", "We will onboard employees", "we will have a an employee satisfaction survey"...We will foster diversity blah blah blah.....the one thing that does impress me is there are specific ambitious targets for scholastic performance which while admirable can also be used as a diversion if other results fail but I digress. Balancing the budget is admirable I guess. Under facilities it is basically we will have a 10 year assedsment and there will be branding at all locations. I do have to give credit though for the OHOW.
Now, the biggest joke. Metrics for success under revenue and specifically mens basketball. The percentages look ambitious but when compared to the base are ludicrous and a set up to say jumped over an ant hill sized bar. 150% season ticket growth over what , 250??? or even 500 ...and on down the line....same with sponshorships, donors, group sales, wow group sales, there is a tough one to improve over basically nothing.
You can see it all playing out. Despite what is going on now and how the future will play out this year will be self evaluated by AB as a success...top 3 in MCCaferty though all on one basis, womens sports...our flagship in tatters as season ticket holders are going to be pissed off big time being manipulated over PBJ and PBS.. but on paper look now at the one year snapshot of increased tickets sales.....agree with Fran though not to put too much on the young man...it is on the coach and AD and to some extent maybe the SID....we all deserve some communication here about what the heck is going on. She will tout here little BS recognition in the mutual admiration society of athletic directors identifying her as an up and coming center of influence, again. blah blah - she is the master at this kind of stuff though. The OHOW which I guess is valid... In short a set up and Mone and the crew do not want to know, better to look mahvelous than to be mahvelous through ginning up the or gaming the performance objectives to say there were specific metrics that were met and all the fuzzy fluff stuff impossible not to meet. Can see the farce continuing here ad infinitum

Before that happens, we are left with hoping a blind squirrel finds a nut. What else can we as fans do short of becoming the next T-Bone Pickens? I would argue that our proposal for the next coach, which we should release the day they announce PBS will not be retained, is the best we can do for now. If it's not enough, it might just be time to pack it in.

And she should not get away with this at the Division I level and at a city with a long sports history like ours. Enough is enough. Somebody needs to check this mismanagement. "We increased donar dollars by 129%!!"
"Website visitors increased by 30%!"
"Player introduction fowlups decreased by 25%!"
"Our invoice splitting program resulted in 100% increase in invoices!!"
"Panther Arena seat ergonomics survey yielded average 3.4 positive response!"
"The leagues top teams increased overal and conference wins by 1.5x but we increased our non-con, non-DI wins by 200%!" Welcome to the show.

I'm hanging up my blog and might not get to another game. We were clearly lied to about this season. And we continue to be lied to about player statuses. It's not worth my time anymore. I feel for the players and I feel for the little kids/children of Panther fans who thought they would see some great basketball. Like some of the other deserters I will watch from afar and maintain/improve my recruiting map application c00rds.azurewebsites.net but until the AD changes and the SID actually directs information, nope. go panthers. someday...

And you can bet somewhere she will fit in that the Pandemic affected things but look how strong the pathetic metrics were regardless....
