Still plenty of game left , but we need to give them a taste of their own medicine. The Delta is 20 right now, but if the pressees become the pressers , we can dig our way back.

Why would you schedule this team? I mean in fairness, we whine when they schedule bad teams too. I LOVE scheduling EKU, it's good to play solid mid-major programs in non-con. I just wish they didn't schedule them in the first real home game, should of saved that for a WIU or WMU type. I know. I actually think this game will help for the conference.

Markieth Browning has been defending his ass off this half.

Down 10 with 4 to play. Big kick here to steal this game!

Down 6 with 40 seconds to go. Give credit to the team for making a game out of it

Baldwin teams never give up, but they also do a whole lot of dumb sh*t to get themselves to this point.

Well we lost. I’m not overly concerned though. EKU hit a lot of contested threes in the first half, and that was the difference. This is a learning experience game. Still plenty of quadrant 1/2 opportunities on the schedule if we want to position ourselves for an at large , and playing this team should help us prepare for conference play.

Bad 28 minutes. Above average last 12. Rebounding is a major concern. I'm out on JSP. Fun while it lasted.
EKU's coach is going to be at a high major soon.
JT was great. Newby picking up 2 fouls in the first half was a killer without J2. They lost their minds the last 5-6 minutes of the 1st half.

Still plenty of quadrant 1/2 opportunities on the schedule if we want to position ourselves for an at large , and playing this team should help us prepare for conference play. Unless the NCAAT has been dramatically expanded while I wasn't paying attention, this is a complete fantasy. The last time a Horizon team got an at-large was 2009. The league was ranked 11th out of 32 leagues that year. It was a high mid-major league. Today it's ranked 20th, barely above low-major status if it's above it at all. Here's the most recent case study: in 2016 Valpo was 16-2 in the league (champion by three games) and 26-6 overall after losing to GB (the eventual champ) in the HLT. It had beaten GB both other times it played. It had also beaten two of the three high majors it played (Rhode Island and Oregon State), losing only to Oregon -- rated 12th -- at Oregon. Its worst loss was to Ball State, on the road. Ball State was ranked 155. Valpo's kenpom ranking AFTER losing to GB was 33. VALPO DID NOT GET AN AT LARGE BID. Have you seen the HL's record so far this year? Breaking news: the at-large bid has sailed for every HL team, already. We have one way into the tournament: win the HLT. We can improve our chances of doing that by finishing high in the league and getting a high seed. And there's good news there: unlike our formidable opponent tonight (predicted for 6th in the mighty A-Sun), all of our opponents in the games that will actually matter to us getting a bid his year play in, you guessed it, the Horizon League! Easy pickings!

Touche.
We have to win the HLT. Everything is positioning for that.
As for tonight's head scratcher when is the last time we had three scorers above or almost at 20pts- and lost- in a game not nearly as close as the score suggests?
I hope next home game is a much better one, it was nice to see big crowds again at the Arena.
Need a larger supporting cast for the 3-4 primary playmakers though.
Lathon might have really helped tonight.
