"So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell, Blue skys from pain. Can you tell a green field From a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell?" -Pink Floyd 1975 To say our loss last night would not have been a win or at least a close game is a flat out lie. Pot <> Alcohol/Cocaine/Heroin/Crack/Meth/Benzos, etc. And I highly doubt Jay-O and any other members of this Milwaukee Panther Basketball team smoke ganja before games.. C'mon now, ghostofdylan. (I smoked with some of the BEST Panther Ballers back between 2001-2005 that you would never think would ever smoke ganja). Should we tear down our Sweet 16 Banner because somebody wanted to listen to Biggie, Pete Seeger or Bob Marley and get high on an off day??? Don't throw stones.... Don't throw stones........ DON'T THROW STONES. YOU LIVE IN A GLASS HOUSE. AS DO I.Good night Panther fans... (and please, do continue to indulge yourself in the delusion that you are a perfect human being). (you are not- we all have our crucibles to pass through and conquer). As those who have followed the program since 2006 surely know well by now, laughter is often the most effective drug.

If you're dumb enough to get caught with weed you deserve a suspension. Do you have any idea how easy it is not to get caught with weed?

Several comments here
1) We don't actually know that Jordan flunked a drug test do we? Nope, there's been no announcement of that and if in fact this was something else like missing a practice some of us have done him a terrible disservice. Not to mention giving guys who recruit against us some ammo (They have drug users on that team)
2) I actually attended the UWM v GB game yesterday as well. Both were major disappointments. I don't understand why we weren't driving to the basket as soon as their Bigs were gone.
3) The Valpo fan sitting next to me couldn't understand why there were more students from Valpo ( a school that's 200 plus miles away) at the game then students from UWM, (a school that's five miles away). Nonetheless it was a good crowd and while there were three buses of Valpo fans there 75 to 80% of it were Panther fans. Too bad the team didn't give them a reason to come back

When those few valpo fans are louder than all the panther fans, you would think those panther fans would have some pride and change that.... But no our fans cant be loud. Its too much work

How embarrassing.

How embarrassing. Its absolutely embarrassing. We don't know what to do to get them off their lazy butts and actually cheer. I am about ready to sneak in a bunch of booze and pass it out to them. but seriously if anyone has any ideas we are open ears. We are starting to give up and its really disappointing that its so bad that it has gotten to that point.

Almost seems like they have to give out a pair of Beats by Dre headphones every game to get people there in the first place. Maybe picking a "student of the game" based on their cheering and overall activeness and giving them some sort of prize like this? Maybe not a $200 pair of headphones every game but it needs to be something that will A) get them there and B) get them off their ass.

The students should be charged $20 for student season tickets. You will use something once you pay for it.

For those that say that it will keep students from coming at all, it can't get much worse than it is now.

The students should be charged $20 for student season tickets. You will use something once you pay for it. The students are really really bad. I will give you that. But the paying public is just as bad. The only reason that they aren't worse is because at least they are paying and generating some revenue for the athletic department. I would rather have half, even a forth of the paying ticket holders at the game if those fans were even a little loud. I don't know what it is with this program but it attracts fans that don't know how to cheer if their lives depended on it. Half the time our front row of students leading the chants are louder than the entire rest of the arena... that is sad. Here is an example of a situation that I was dumbfounded at how quiet it was. Against Green Bay at home, we went on a tear of not hitting a damn shot, and granted it got loud for that (after about 3 buckets in a row though..). As soon as we missed two possessions in a row the arena went silent again... We were up by multiple possessions worth of points, with less than 2 minutes left in the game, in the biggest home game of the year, and with less than 2 minutes and the lead more than 4000 fans couldn't manage to get loud..... HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?!?!?! I don't know how to peg this fan base. I really don't. The fans I meet seem fairly passionate, we draw good crowds, people like going to games, so why aren't our fans so lethargic. Sometimes it almost comes off as a little uppity. Like they have all been fans of Powerhouses like Duke, UNC, Kansas, etc., and Milwaukee basketball just doesn't impress them. Like they all expect dunks, 3 pointers, and alley-oops every god damn play or they aren't interested enough to waste their time lifting a finger or raising their voices to cheer the team on. Honestly, I am just getting really tired of a lot of things. Our fans, Our Athletic Department, Our Students. They all just seem like they have no heart, no passion, no excitement for this program. It just seems like nobody really gives a crap and it really bums me out.

Careful now. Some of these posters, like Steve, Fran and Sport, have been fans of the program for 40 or 50 years.

i favor legalizing marijuana for all sorts of reasons. tax it like alcohol and cigarettes and you get a lot of money for the feds and states in taxes, plus you free people who are currently in prison for possessing the stuff. as for the basketball team, they need to have a run in the conference tourney to get people pumped. i weas at the semifinal game in 2011 and it was pumping. dont know why the fanbase is so apathetic.
