But doesn't college basketball belong on a college campus?
-- signed 2,000 empty seats, including too many to count in the student sections

I hope we recognize that he has helped shape what will be the plan to build permanent facilities for this program. We'll see. At the moment, his regime has to be judged as unsuccessful.

I've heard rumors for the past three weeks or so, that the Panthers will be moving back to the Cell. This could be a done deal in the next couple of weeks!

Getting back downtown would help this school alot, especially in exposure and recruiting. However, they will have to get the rent much cheaper, or get get some kind of other revenue from being there. 250K a year to play in that old shack seems steep. Especially when there are so many empty seats the last few yrs we where there. If they can't get a deal where they come out ahead money wise they will sit at the KC another year. Just my take. However, the fact that JS picked up on it tells me some serious negotiating is under way.

Almost everyone - the fans, athletic department, coaching staff, players, alumni, donors, even the SBGC - prefers to play downtown. I can't speak to the administration, but Andy Geiger was pretty clear where he stood. I don't know whether he changed after seeing the season or not, but I hope he did. I do know he still was working donors hard for the new baseball stadium Sunday, at his final athletic event as AD. His tenure will be defined by the move to the Klotsche Center, but I hope we recognize that he has helped shape what will be the plan to build permanent facilities for this program. I could forgive the move to the KC if it ultimately helps negotiate a better lease for Milwaukee at the Cell, but the fact that he didn't even arrange for beer to be sold there showed just how apathetic he was towards Milwaukee and its fan base. Regardless of the good that may come down the road from his time here, that aspect of his reign rightfully deserves criticism. Anyway, since I'm ready to move on and get excited about going back to the cell, here's my pipe-dream of a floor I posted at PantherU awhile back: I wouldn't even ask for payment, just hook me up with some season tickets and I'm good.

That looks great! That said, I am a fan of natural wood floors.

Nice Design but my issues, I don't mind the color but that diamond pattern I dont like, and if we do it, you need to use the Horizon Logo that we have now, not that star guy. But I like the idea on the State of Wisconsin logo, but put the Panther head in it.
my 2 cents.

A nice first move by Braun to get involved in the discussion of moving back to the Cell. I'll withhold judgment on formulating an opinion of her until she really gets her feet wet. I.E. do we actually move from the KC for the next basketball season, and will she attack our branding issues right away. A good first step though

Nice Design but my issues, I don't mind the color but that diamond pattern I dont like, The "diamond" is actually two Ms facing the baselines ... a nice nod to the classic MECCA floor:

That looks great! That said, I am a fan of natural wood floors. Personally, I don't think anything beats the old Boston Garden floor. But our program doesn't have the tradition to pull off something like that; and more importantly, things that would've been considered gimmicks 10 years ago like non-traditionally colored floors and special uniforms actually get you recruits nowadays. This floor was my attempt at creating something unmistakably modern, yet timeless and uniquely Milwaukee... all traits I'd like to see Milwaukee's brand take in general.

I think it looks better with the Horizon League logo than it did with the Valley logo, actually.
