The fact that this fan board has sunk to the level of so many Seinfeld references to bring interest and entertainment has shown how far the men's basketball program and the athletic department overall has fallen. On other fan boards they actually talk about the state of the athletics.

Coach Jeter's speech at the Senior Salute included a thinly-veiled stump speech to get us back downtown.
Almost everyone - the fans, athletic department, coaching staff, players, alumni, donors, even the SBGC - prefers to play downtown. I can't speak to the administration, but Andy Geiger was pretty clear where he stood. I don't know whether he changed after seeing the season or not, but I hope he did. I do know he still was working donors hard for the new baseball stadium Sunday, at his final athletic event as AD. His tenure will be defined by the move to the Klotsche Center, but I hope we recognize that he has helped shape what will be the plan to build permanent facilities for this program.
Even if we sign a long-term lease, the program needs to build a basketball practice facility to take care of the basketball team. And it can't be a podunk one, either.

I really hope a year away from the US Cellular Arena showed all involved two things.
1. The Panthers need to play there.
2. The WCD NEEDS us to play there.
With that, we need to get a sweet deal in place and nothing like the one we had. We need to have more say in what goes on (ie: Disney on Ice) and ideally, I would love to see a very long term lease, and with our commitment of some money and the WCD's commitment of some money to begin some renovations of the Cell. (pipe dream but ya know..)

Great news.
I hope this can get done before this season. I loved going to the Cell. It really is a great place to play.
