Why would they want to burden taxes on the community or uni.as those fees don't pertain to them. More importantly gambling/casino don't go hand and hand with higher education. No way the Pot will be apart of spending money if there's none in return.

Milwaukee has to get back to downtown Milwaukee.

Finally a basketball comment (linking to a great article) related to the Panthers! I know it's gotten bad guys, but if you want to make a forum about Milwaukee Panther Hoops, why devolve into a series of Seinfeld references? Seinfeld is unquestionably one of- if not the- best sitcom ever produced in the history of television. I watched it with my devoted Mom and sisters for many years and I loved it. But you guys could start a different forum just for Seinfeld quotes.
I guess the joke is apparent to me now, though. That is, the references wouldn't be in such frequency and an in such direct relation to our basketball program here... if our basketball program wasn't dry-heaving from the most sickening season I have ever witnessed. I didn't even know UWM was D-I until I arrived on campus in September of 2001, however.. but as others have pointed out- this 8-24 (3-13) season was epically embarrassing.
I dunno... Maybe Jake Thomas likes the city but doesn't like MU and want to be the King of Thrones for Milwaukee Hoops. Maybe the new AD will prove to have the vision that has been almost entirely lacking from that position since Bud still had the passion and spirit to make move what did.
Maybe oh, just maybe we will [help them- the AD peeps] figure it out.
*Sein-quote to your memories delight- no qualms here. I just want to point out the obvious- that the sad state of affairs surrounding the exhale of this mind-numbing season (and serious long-term question marks) has turned this "discussion?" board into a court jester's jesting match. This development is funny no doubt... but in a sad way. But hey, better comedy fans make lemonade than the board be completely abandoned.
Tyrone Young. Tim Flowers. Kevin Johnson. Brad Carroll. Michael Tyler. Calvin Godfrey. Ja'Rob McCallum. Shaq & Lonnie Boga, Donald Thomas. Oh, what happened....?
Next year. Next year, we'll get 'em and hit 'em where it hurts. Hey, at this rate of conference mayhem at least the Horizon auto-bid is getting easier. Next year? Guaranteed Round of 64 loss to Kentucky or Illinois or USC... or someone (I'll take it). Peace hippies, hipsters, squares and weirdos; I'm out!
