Exactly why is Geiger supposed to be such a savior for Panther athletics again? All he's shown so far is how out of touch he is with the core fans of our only revenue sport and can't even give an answer on when we can expect a new arena beyond "maybe in 3-5 years."
At this rate, we may as well drop down to D3 and re-join the WIAC... it's not as if we're not playing in a D3 facility for the forseeable future as it is.

I will say first off that I am not in favor of not having beer sold. I enjoy having a few beers at the game and have for the entire time I was a season ticket holder, actually it was one of the things that my dad and i used to always trade off on, so from that stand point it is a bummer. But to me the thing that is an even larger bummer is the overall plan. I don't like the idea but i can understand it (not selling beer that is), since the idea is to actually make alcohol sold in a donor area, to me that makes sense and is something I am totally fine with. But to me the bigger thing is the fact that this donor club is going to be down away from the floor and the arena in general, and located in the Athletic offices, where if you have been in there before it is not a bad place but it is also not a very functional space for this kind of use. It gets full easy and it is way too far away from the court and the action. There is little to no cell reception of any kind ( at least it was that way the last time i was in there) and there is no real exposure to the outside. You want to make it a special thing that you want people who donate to be able to be a part of why are you hiding it away from everyone? To me that was why the Panther Pit was great, you were in your own little area and still in the middle of everything. So what i don't get is why the plan is to put this new area no where in the same vicinity of the playing floor, what purpose does that serve and why would you want to donate to this to only have to leaving the arena completely and then have to come back to make sure you don't miss any game action? That to me is where the real head scratching part comes in. Should they sell beer to everyone probably, but is it really the end of the world if they don't, come on lets not kid ourselves no it isn't. I guess with the way that things have went thus far I just see this as not as big of a deal as some may seem to think and I think that the new AD has shown already the ability to go against the grain and make his own choices on what he feels the best move is for the program, and while it may not be what everyone else agrees with, that is basically how this regime seems to go so far. I guess I am hoping maybe we will be watching a team this year that won't drive me to want to have to drink the way that some past years have

I have about 1 beer per game at the Cell. I would not call myself a beer drinker. When the news came out that the Panthers were moving back to campus, I never thought they would have beer. I think they should sell beer and cut of sales off at the start of the 2nd half. Take the money, UWM!!

Why can you buy beer in the union but not at the KC? What's the difference?

Have not heard about the donor area but assumed it would be in the fieldhouse. Seriously, it would be way off in the athletics offices? Man, how sterile....as far as Rob goes...great guy, nice person, but typical boring pablum (comments on upcoming season). why not put up a life size cardboard cut-out and play the same tape. Conference is keep, blah blah blah...the next original interesting dynamic thought Rob offers will be the first unfortunately.. yawn

I don't need beer to enjoy a basketball game.
As for Jeter, I vote that we give his new run-and-gun system a chance.
Why? Because there really is no choice in the matter.

Spot on. How are people supposed to get fired up about a program when the coach doesn't even get fired up about a program. Guess we just have to hope we win games.

Plus, it's not like the Panthers suck, they have been in to post-season the past two years. I guess big-time winning from 2003 to 2006, changes the fans viewpoints. Not to say that is a bad thing.

Spot on. How are people supposed to get fired up about a program when the coach doesn't even get fired up about a program. Guess we just have to hope we win games. Bingo. Bruce Pearl was appearing in local ads even before the Panthers ever made it to the big dance? Why? Because he got out in the community and made it a point to become an ambassador for the program. How many people who don't have some connection to UWM even know who Rob Jeter is? Hell, how many UWM people don't even know know who our coach is? As for Jeter, I vote that we give his new run-and-gun system a chance. Why? Because there really is no choice in the matter. That's being charitable... who outside of hardcore college hoops fans even know what the CBI is? Remember when "FIRE MILLEN" caught on so well in Detroit that fans were even chanting it at Pistons games and WWE PPV's? I think I know what Milwaukee's next big chant should be ;D Unfortunately, the fact that Rob Jeter is still coach means it'll be impossible to make it through games without some type of substance in your system. Doesn't change the fact they were still in post-season.

I don't need beer to enjoy watching the Panthers but I probably will need beer to enjoy watching the Panthers routinely play in Klotsche. Its bad enough we're playing in that dump but now we'll have to pay $1,000 for the "privilege" to drink at a remote location nowhere near the court? That's a nice "F U" to the season ticket holders.
