Where has this Detroit team been all season?
Ray Jr.'s antics are annoying and way over the top, but there is no denying he has the most talent of any player in the league.

I've watched about 1 minute in the second half of the Detroit-Valpo game and can't stand Ray Jr.'s antics. Just play and stop posturing for the camera and the crowd. LOL did you hear the commentators? They said Ray's actions "organic and authentic" "raw emotion". God I hate this network.

Also, did anyone else notice Ray Jr. dunk the ball at the end of the game when the coaches were shaking hands? HA!

This whole conference sh*t the bed. There's no program that deserves this less than Detroit. PJ Boutte got drunk, kicked out of a bar, and was arrested trying to get back into the bar with a taser. Holman beat the sh*t out of three frat boys, breaking one's nose, because they had the gall to ask his teammate not to hang on a pipe in their basement. They have had several players leave the program in the last two years, several players fail to qualify academically.
This is the program representing US in the NCAA Tournament? No thanks.

For the 3rd year out of 4, a team went on the road to beat a team they were 0 for 2 against that season to win the Horizon League. There's your parity.

You may not have liked the way Ray acted, but he and the Titans are in the NCCA tourney, while we are looking at the CBI or CIB or CIT or CTI or whatever the tournament is called. I'll will take that emotion from my players if they can get us to the dance.

UDM looks to be a one year wonder. (Might be better to call them a one month wonder, considering how mediocre they were most of the season.) Holman, Lowe and Simon are seniors and Ray Ray, having made it to the dance, will most likely declare for the league. I agree with BP -- it's not the team I want repping the H League, but it is what it is. If they play like that they'll be a scary test for some 2 or 3 seed. But the chances are good that they will not play like that.
As for us, we beat both teams in that final. The pique directed at Jeter by a few fans here is understandable in context -- nobody likes it when the season ends -- but he will be our coach for years, and deservedly so. We are now contending year after year. I expect that to continue, and eventually we will break through again. We all want it to happen now, but it's a damn tough thing to do in a perennial one bid league where 90% of the teams end the season outside the tournament. So just keep knocking on the door. Ask the Valpo fans about it. When they were in the Mid-Con they got used to dancing every year. They expected it.
It doesn't work that way in the H League.

I wouldn't be so sure Ray Jr jump to the NBA. He is not a 1st round pick yet. They lose 4 seniors, but return nice complimentary pieces in Calliste and Anderson, and add transfer Juwan Howard Jr. They'll have a giant hole in the middle, but the rest of the donut is pretty good. They also might have closer to a full roster, or will until their perennial suspensions begin. I won't say there contenders next year, but they will be solid. As for Milwaukee, do you really expect to contend next year? With this roster? In this league? You lose your 3 best players, and don't return any playmakers. Your recruiting class is weak by HL standards. The rest of the league will be loaded. I'm not trying to troll here, but I don't see an upper half of the conference finish. Tell me what you see that's different? Also, the HL has gotten 2 bids numerous times, and will again next year.

After the last eight days, I'm left with just one conclusion:
Detroit is 59 (or 61) points better than Milwaukee.

Kids make mistakes and they should have to rectify the errors of their ways. You come in here with the attitude of someone who has ruled the Horizon League for years when your team has had nary a sniff of the Horizon League Championship since the mid-90s. Pump the brakes a little bit "GB BB is back". You haven't won anything yet.
