I think Valpo needs to fire there staff right now it is unacceptable for them not to win with someone else's players. I mean for a guy not to win with the former coaches players is crazy its one of the easiest things to do in this league Jeter did it. If you can't sense thats sarcasm it is. This is a one bid league and with one bad game you are done. As far as the Jeter haters do you see anywhere on the Valpo board people calling for his head after losing in the championship game i.imgur.com/qBW4A.pngI don't know who you are arguing with, but the argument is completely flawed. Jeter took over a Sweet 16 team that was returning some major pieces including Joah Tucker (Preseason POY), Adrian Tigert and Boo Davis. They received 37 of 43 first place votes before that season. The senior-laden team was widely expected to return to the NCAA tournament, and they did. They had the experience of playing in high pressure, high profile games as they did just that the season before beating Alabama and Boston College. Is there anything, at all, that mirrors this situation at Valpo? Was Valpo expected to win the league? Was Valpo returning 3 all-league players? Was Valpo a senior-laden experienced team with the preseason player of the year? This whole thing is so ridiculous. I understand you're upset that some people aren't giving Coach Jeter as much respect as you think he deserves, but creating false comparisons and arguments isn't going to win you any debates. WINNING CURES EVERYTHING.

I don't know where Green Bay will finish next year but I like their team. The recruiting class of Arenz, Fouse and Love is damn good. Throw in Sykes, Brown and Cerroni and you have something there. And I know they look better than Milwaukee.

Multi-NCAA bid Years for Horizon League: 1989 1990 1993 1995 1996 1998 (Three teams) 2003 2007 2009 So in 23 years, the H League (let's put aside the many differences between the league in the 90s and in the 00s) sent 33 teams to the tournament. Assuming that the league was always about ten teams, that means that on the average, 86% of the teams in any given year don't go dancing. Frankly, the fact that the league has sent more than one team (and in no case more than two) to the tournament only three times in the last 14 years makes it pretty clear that it is, in fact, a perennial one bid league. By the way, I await the howls of rage from the Valpo fans to get rid of Bryce Drew. Yeah, he may have won the league regular season title, but he did it with Homer's players -- and he couldn't get it done in the title game. Unacceptable! In my opinion, a perennial one bid league is one that has no hope of receiving any thing more than their automatic bid. Accepting that premise that the Horizon is a perennial one bid league is accepting that is a low major conference. We may disagree... that's fine. I just feel that categorizing the H League that way is just building in an excuse for failure and mediocrity. And, by the way, I would hope there are Valpo fans that are disappointed that their team battled all year won home court and then lost a golden opportunity to make the tourney for the first time in many years.

I bet the Valpo fans feel exactly the way we did a year ago.
