If butler wins tonight we can't get the 3 and butler winning will make the cleveland state game meaningless in terms of our seed

I think this every year. But why can't the second round be played at the campus site. Make the first round on Monday. Second round on Thursday then semis on Saturday. Right now there really isn't an advantage of being the 4 versus 5 or 3 versus 6

Right now there really isn't an advantage of being the 4 versus 5 or 3 versus 6 It means way less traveling so you can play the 2nd and 3rd rounds in back to back nights. And I disagree on the seeding part. I would much rather be the #3 and play the #10 then be the #6 and play the #7 who is likely not much worse then you are. This year for example. I would rather be the #4 and play UIC then be the #5 and play Wright st.

The way I see it is if you don't want to travel to 3 cities in 6 days then make sure you're better than the 7th best team. And let's hypothetically say that gb is the 3 csu is the 1 and ysu is the 6. That's a sh*tty place to play the second round game if youre gb

Right now there really isn't an advantage of being the 4 versus 5 or 3 versus 6 This brings on an advantage if we do stay at 6, and that is no true road game until the finals (and of course maybe not even then). 4, 5, 8, or 9 must go on the road in the semis against the top seed, whereas 3, 6, 7, or 10 get a neutral site game against the 2 seed. This brings about the question of whether re-seeding should be instituted.

Hope the team remembers how tough the first game was, here. Maybe having the game at the Klotsche will help the Panthers.

Happy to have beaten Loyola and gotten the #4 seed, but am I the only one who thinks our chances would have been better had we gotten the #6 seed instead? As it stands now, we have to beat UIC (should be easy), then Butler (gonna be tough), and then Valpo at home (gonna be REAL tough) just to get into the finals.
Had we gotten the #6 seed, we would have had a fairly difficult matchup against GB, but then it would have been Detroit, and then Cleveland State (at a neutral site) to get into the finals.
I know we have no control over our seed unless we are #1, but I just noticed that we aren't really being rewarded as much as I originally thought when we won yesterday...
In any event, it's going to be tough to win the tourney regardless of whether you are seeded #1 or #10. This thing is wide open and if we keep playing the way we have been, we should make a good run and possibly surprise some people.

I don't think there are any tough or easy roads in the tournament this year. 1 through 8 can beat each other on any given night. A 6 seed and game against Green Bay is tough. We escaped with a victory the first game and three point shooting got us through the second game against Green Bay. That said, I will take the 4 seed and a game against UIC.

I think our current situation gives us an easier first round game (UIC over GB), but a tougher potential semis game (vs CSU @neutral site vs at Valpo) Detroit or Butler is kind of a toss up for me. I think re-seeding after each round would be a good move.

The HL should have the lowest seed left, play the #1 seed in the semi-finals. I believe how they do it in the NHL playoffs.
If the Panthers were the #6 seed, they wouldn't have to play Valpo untill the finals. Now as the #4 seed UWM has to play Valpo in the semi's.

With two 10-8 teams meeting up in the #6-#7 match-up, really shows how balanced the HL is this season.
