Wright State is slotted into the 8 seed with tonight's loss. It could only tie Green Bay at 8-10, and GB swept them.

This is what we know, spots that are confirmed: 1. Valparaiso 8. Wright State 9. UIC 10. Loyola If the season ended today (which, of course, it doesn't), the tournament pairings would be ... FIRST ROUND Tuesday, February 28 (at campus sites)(10) Loyola (1-16) at (3) Cleveland State (11-6), 6 p.m. (7) Green Bay (9-8) at (6) Milwaukee (10-7), 7 p.m. (8) Wright State (7-10) at (5) Detroit (10-7), 6 p.m. (9) UIC (3-14) at (4) Youngstown State (10-7), 6 p.m. - Youngstown State (2-1) wins tiebreaker over Detroit (1-2) and Milwaukee (1-3) on head-to-head record (Note: YSU-Detroit play on 2/25 … so they obviously won’t end up tied with each other)
QUARTERFINALS Friday, March 2 (at Athletics Recreation Center, Valparaiso, Ind.)Loyola-Cleveland State winner vs. Green Bay-Milwaukee winner, TBA Wright State-Detroit winner vs. UIC-YSU winner, TBA SEMIFINALS Saturday, March 3 (at Athletics Recreation Center, Valparaiso, Ind.)Loyola-CSU-GB-Milwaukee vs. (2) Butler (11-6), 4 p.m. (tape-delayed on ESPNU, 9:30 p.m.) WSU-Detroit-UIC-YSU at (1) Valparaiso (13-4), 6:30 p.m. (ESPNU) CHAMPIONSHIP Tuesday, March 6 (at highest remaining seed)Semifinal winners, 8 p.m. (ESPN)

So if we win on Saturday do we at worst move up to #5? Either Detroit loses and we move ahead of them but lose out on #4 to YSU or YSU loses and we win tiebreaker vs Detroit and get the #4 seed. Plus throwing Butler and CSU into the mix can change things.
The #3 is still in play as well I believe.

Essentially, the Detroit-Youngstown State game is going to be a big determining factor on Milwaukee’s seeding ... and the Butler and Cleveland State results to a slightly lesser extent. Remember, that sweep at the hands of Youngstown State means Milwaukee wants no part of a tiebreaker with the Penguins. To the best of my knowledge and quick calculations/breakdowns of the scenarios, here’s what we are facing going into the final games ... Milwaukee can finish anywhere between 3 and 6 seed. (my apologies in advance if anything is out of place) If Milwaukee loses to Loyola (and Green Bay loses) … plus:- Detroit beats Youngstown State: Milwaukee would be the 6 seed (UWM & YSU would be 10-8, with YSU winning head-to-head tiebreaker)
- Youngstown State beats Detroit: Milwaukee would be the 5 seed (UWM & Detroit would be 10-8. Teams split season series, but UWM wins tiebreaker with 1-1 record vs. Valpo as Detroit was 0-2 vs. Valpo.)
[/s] [/li][/ul] If Milwaukee loses to Loyola (and Green Bay wins)… plus:- Detroit beats Youngstown State: Milwaukee would be the 6 seed (UWM, YSU & UWGB would be 10-8. YSU is 3-1 vs. group, UWM is 2-2 vs. group, UWGB is 1-3 vs. group.)
Youngstown State beats Detroit: Milwaukee would be the 5 seed (UWM, Detroit & UWGB would be 10-8. UWM & Detroit are both 3-1 vs. group, UWGB is 0-4 vs. group. UWM wins tiebreaker over Detroit with 1-1 vs. Valpo as Detroit was 0-2 vs. Valpo.)
If Milwaukee beats Loyola (and Cleveland State and Butler both win) … plus:
- Youngstown State beats Detroit: Milwaukee would be the 5 seed (UWM & YSU would be 11-7, with YSU winning head-to-head tiebreaker)
- Detroit beats Youngstown State: Milwaukee would be the 4 seed (UWM & Detroit would be 11-7. Teams split season series, but UWM wins tiebreaker with 1-1 record vs. Valpo as Detroit was 0-2 vs. Valpo.)
If Milwaukee beats Loyola (and Cleveland State and Butler both lose) … plus:
- Youngstown State beats Detroit: Milwaukee would be 5 seed. (CSU, Butler, YSU and UWM would all finish at 11-7. Butler is 4-2 vs. group, CSU & YSU are both 3-3 vs. group, UWM is 2-4 vs. group.)
- Detroit beats Youngstown State: Milwaukee would be 3 seed. (CSU, Butler, Detroit and UWM would all finish at 11-7. CSU is 4-2 vs. group, UWM & Detroit are both 3-3 vs. group, Butler is 2-4 vs. group. UWM wins tiebreaker over Detroit with 1-1 vs. Valpo as Detroit was 0-2 vs. Valpo.)
If Milwaukee beats Loyola (and Cleveland State wins, and Butler loses) … plus:- Youngstown State beats Detroit: Milwaukee would be 5 seed. (Butler, YSU and UWM tied at 11-7. Butler is 3-1 vs. group, YSU is 2-2 vs. group, UWM is 1-3 vs. group.)
[/s] [/li][li] Detroit beats Youngstown State: Milwaukee would be 4 seed. (Butler, Detroit and UWM tied at 11-7. Detroit is 3-1 vs. group, UWM is 2-2 vs. group, Butler is 1-3 vs. group.) [/li][/ul] If Milwaukee beats Loyola (and Butler wins, and Cleveland State loses) … plus:
- Youngstown State beats Detroit: Milwaukee would be 5 seed. (CSU, YSU and UWM tied at 11-7. YSU is 3-1 vs. group, CSU is 2-2 vs. group, UWM is 1-3 vs. group.)
- Detroit beats Youngstown State: Milwaukee would be 4 seed. (CSU, Detroit and UWM tied at 11-7. CSU is 3-1 vs. group, UWM is 2-2 vs. group, Detroit is 1-3 vs. group.)

So if we win on Saturday do we at worst move up to #5? Yes, at worst a 5 because Detroit and Youngstown State play ... one will drop to 10-8.

Ultimately it doesn't matter what seed we get it we don't get the 3. And we have no control of that outside of winning on Saturday.

Basically G0 Panthers and Go Detroit!
I'd rather be 4 then 5 only because I'd rather play UIC in 1st round then Wright st.
We destroyed Wright st at home but also got destroyed by them at their place so I would rather take my chances with UIC.
If everything else plays out and we do get the #3 seed then we would play Loyola back to back 3 days apart.

Butler plays tonight and the ysu-det and the csu-wsu game is 2 hours before Uwm starts so we will know exactly what the game means when our game tips off (or shortly after)
