This one will definitely come down to our defense.
I think it will be a low scoring game so if our d can hold them in the 50s or 60s its should be close enough for us to have a chance to pull out a win in the end! Can't wait for this one!

So is there much buzz about the game around campus today? I'm really hoping to see a monstrous student section tonight, similar to the Horizon Title game last year. This Panther team deserves a large and raucous home crowd/home court advantage.

So is there much buzz about the game around campus today? I'm really hoping to see a monstrous student section tonight, similar to the Horizon Title game last year. This Panther team deserves a large and raucous home crowd/home court advantage. In my couple classes so far today I have heard a few rumblings about the game. I have heard many talking and asking each other "Are you going to the game tonight?" I have heard some ask if we have any chance to win. And of course I have heard some say we have no chance. About an hour ago I was talking to someone who has sat behind me and class all semester and we have talked a bit over the course of the last couple months. I told him I'm going to the game tonight and asked if he was as well. His response: "Nah I don't really feel like going all the way out to Madison." I said "you do realize the game is at the cell and were at home." He said "I still don't think I'm gonna go plus were going to get destroyed anyway." I asked him why he thinks we have no shot and he said "Badgers are Big Ten and almost beat UNC. We are Horizon League and can't hang with them and that its not really a home game cause Badgers will have way more fans." By that point it was time to take an exam so I turned around took my exam and left but I just don't get the mentality of some people. I hope we prove all the doubters wrong tonight because I would love nothing more that to go back to him and say "You missed one hell of a game and a great Panthers victory!" Lets take this one tonight Panthers!

Oh and by the way some people were talking about how they couldn't get a voucher at one of the offices I think we will have a packed student section tonight.
Hopefully there are no red blemishes in that sea of GOLD!

FYI, from uwmpanthers.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/121311aac.html:Approximately 1,000 tickets remain available to the general public. Tickets are $20 and are on sale through Ticketmaster. Plus, fans can purchase any available tickets at the U.S. Cellular Arena box office prior to the game. Also, nearly 2,000 student ticket vouchers have already been distributed to UWM students. Students can pick up remaining vouchers at the U.S. Cellular Arena prior to tonight's game. Doors to the U.S. Cellular Arena will open at 5:30 p.m. to help accommodate the large crowd. Fans picking up tickets at will call or planning to make a purchase at the door are encouraged to arrive very early in order to ensure they do not miss the tipoff.

I think we should insert Tony Meier back into the starting lineup tonight even if Kyle does end up playing. We had a winning streak while bringing Tony off of the bench and now that its over I think Coach should put him back into the starting lineup. 1. Kaylon Williams 2. Ryan Allen 3. Tony Meier 4. James Haarsma 5. Kyle Kelm
If Kyle doesn't play, maybe plug Paris in the lineup or Jarob if he is back tonight. Thoughts?

I get what you're saying, Fran. However, if this game is in the 50's or 60's, we lose. We've tried beating them at their own game and haven't been competitive in the process. We need to take them out of their comfort zone, and have to try and get them to play at a faster pace. If we walk the ball up the floor and allow them to clamp down defensively, good night. We have guards who can push the ball and get out on the wing. That's our best chance at a victory tonight. We've tried it the other way the last five years and the average score has been 65-46. We've scored more than 50 once in those five games. Suffice to say, doing the same thing for a sixth straight year and expecting a different result is at best wishful thinking.

It would behoove us to run them into the ground if Paris and Tony are shooting well. I still think Kaylon Williams is better running a half-court offense then a full-court offense.

So, it is official that Kyle Kelm is not playing tonight or is it still up in the air? Also, anyone hear anything on Jarob? I know someone on the board before said Kyle is out and the JSOnline article said he was questionable, so I don't know what to think.

Unless someone else heard differently, I'm pretty sure it's a game time decision. Injuries are always kept pretty quiet in college hoops, so I'd be surprised if anyone really knows.

Well, I think I'm already on record saying that's my preferred starting lineup. So yeah, I agree with you. The added 6'9" SF over a 6' SG against a big team like this sure can't hurt.
At this point, I don't believe it's 100% that Kyle is out tonight.

Who do you think is more capable of running on the Badgers -- UNC, UNLV, BYU, MU or Milwaukee?
The Badgers let none of those teams run on them, and unlike us, they are all built for it.
We have to play straight up. If we aren't good enough to beat them playing straight up, then we need to get better. Trying to play in a way that we don't play, short-handed, against a team with the best defense and most advanced ability to control pace of any team in the country is a recipe for ruin.
To me, trying to run on Wisconsin tonight is simply conceding that we can't win.
