I think this is going to be a huge test without Tony, O'connor was talking during the Northern Illinois game how he has had several NBA Scout credential requests for this game to see Alex Young.

They've had several years with great scorers, way back to before even George Hill.
Against Anderson:
Alex Young
20 points, 8-16 FG, 3-6 3PT, 8 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, 0 turnovers
This is going to be a difficult, difficult game. Luckily one of the few strengths we've exhibited in the young season, especially last night, is a knack for solid perimeter defense. If Paris Gulley, Kaylon Williams and Ryan Allen are on the court together, we can defend anyone. They made NIU look stupid with that trio on the court. The only reason we didn't go back to it enough in the second half was because our own shooting failed and we needed lesser defenders and better scorers (read: Ja'Rob) out there.

Ja'Rob is a good defender. I think he leads the team in steals.

Ja'Rob is a good defender. I think he leads the team in steals. Ja'Rob is an improving defender. He's not there yet. Ryan Haggerty has a steal. Steals do not equal defense (important, yes, but more steals than the other guy doesn't mean better defense than the other guy). |

Arkansas-Little rock beat them last night but I wasn't able to see much of the game.
Did anything stand out for either team? (Since we will be playing both of them soon enough)

(Since we will be playing both of them soon enough) Yes, Alex Young got off to a slow (horrendous?) start, shooting 2 of 10 as the Jaguars fell to a 41-26 late first-half deficit. Ultimately, the slick 6-foot-6 wing recovered to make his last four shots and finish with a team-high 19 points, but IUPUI lost 75-70. Little Chuck Guy (perhaps 5-foot-8) led the Trojans with 21 points and burly Courtney Jackson (6-6, 230), the guy James must stop, added 12. |
