The HLN broadcast mentioned the suspension for Kaylon. I did not get the details, does anyone know?

Its evident that our two best players are missing. I think it hurts us most when we have subpar play at the point guard position. We need to shoot better.
James Haarsma with 6pts and 12rebs IN ONE HALF. Thats awesome....

Mustang fan here. Glad to see that you guys were overlooking us. We are in the same conference as Northern State (who beat Butler), so its not like you were the only ones. Having said that, I was just hoping for a competitive game and we had that. Good luck the rest of the season!

It's hard for a fan base not to overlook a D2 school. SW Minn. State played a solid game.

Butler LOST to Evansville? And we thought we were bad on Free throws...Butler shot 62.5% from the line.
Oh, and been getting mixed reviews with the Grey home unis

I like the new unis, but SW Minn. St had a light colored uni' as well.

Listened to the whole game while helping a friend get a tree off his porch.
Anyway from how it sounded we looked good to end the 1st half and then came out strong before letting them get back in it.
Bad FT shooting will kill us because it seems like one of the main places our offense will be coming from this year.
Very happy with Haarsma today.

Haarsma missed some bunnies and our final FT percentage wasn't that bad (22/30, 73.3%).
Ryan Allen: 7-8 from the free throw line, 1-1 from 3.
More Evan Richard please.
More Demetrius Harris please.
Once Kaylon and Tony get back we'll be totally fine.

Outside of Haarsma, our FT shooting was very good.
Subtract Haarsma and Panthers were 18-22 on free throws, 82%
There was still alot of good stuff to see today. 10 of Haarsma's 17 rebounds were offensive, JaRob looked solid and Allen looks like he is starting to show a bit more of an all-around game, at least more than his usual 1-block, 1-dunk games from last year.

Unless you're using Haarsma's FT% as a proxy for the teams, I think the FT shooting at today's game is being overblown.
Even with Haarsma's poor performance at the line, our free throw shooting was still good, and significantly better than our historical average.
A frame of reference:
The last 10 seasons we've averaged 68.7% from the free throw line. Our 10-year standard deviation is 1.94, meaning that the likelihood is that we would shoot between 66.76% and 70.63% this season. If we were to carry tonight's average of 73.3% through the entire season that would represent a 2+ standard deviation event, and is very unlikely (assuming the distribution is normal).
Couple that with the fact that since the mid-1960's mens college basketball players have made 69% of their free throws. That makes the 73.3% in a game sound pretty darn good.

I hate missing games! Sounds like we were decent but still rusty, I look forward to being at a game... finally.
