I'm guessing they never made it to the internet?

Pros and Cons This is what they were working from when they requested money from the students. One page of a 32 mb pdf. Just thought it would help. Attachments:

Interesting. I wonder which site I'd choose.

Of those, I think the East Conservancy would be the best.

I'm not a tree hugger, or a nature freak...but I hate taking that green space away. And as a school teacher...I'd have to hear how many kids are going to be displaced and forced to go to a different school. I don't like closing neighborhood schools. I don't like the KC option...so I guess I'd be interested to hear more about the Norris site. In all honesty, as someone who doesn't live across the street from the East Conservancy.....the East Conservancy site looks like an attractive option.

The East and West Conservancy sites would both require a lot of effort. The "conservancy," aka the Downer Woods, was donated to the University on the condition that the land remain undeveloped.
When the East Tower of Sandburg Hall was built, as i recall, they had to offset the portion of the the Downer Woods used for the tower by expanding the protected area elsewhere.

My sense (I haven't specifically asked anyone) is that the Norris site is the leading contender. The disadvantage (to my eye) is that it's a little too congested there, and it would make the building all but invisible from outside the campus. I would prefer a site where a new arena stands out more. The Hartford School site would be ideal from my perspective, but I suspect the politics and finances would change significantly at that location.
On the other hand there would certainly be some benefit at the Norris site from having it contiguous with the Klotsche and the Pavilion.

As many of you know the arena is currently in the planning stages. The arena is being planned as a convocation center which will provide multi-use space for convocation, athletics and campus wide events. According to the university’s official campus planning website the convocation center will be located adjacent to the existing Klotsche Center in the Norris Health Center site. www4.uwm.edu/uap/projects/

WOW! Great find.
1. We have a time schedule within the next six years! 2. We have early conceptual drawings! 3. We have a location! 4. Most importantly, we're in the master plan!
Time to get some funders and make this a reality.

I believe the convocation center info has been on the university’s official campus planning website for a while. But I haven't seen the link pertaining to the convocation center posted on here. I thought it might be of some interest.

Why is everyone so upset about moving the Klotsche? I didn't realize plans were already underway. It seems like the school doesn't want the rendering made public. Has anyone seen them in person?

I have. Those renderings may be the ones that have existed since Koonce was AD that I saw. If they're not, they're darn close.
