I think if Jeter leaves and someone like Boudreau is hired, the recruits would likely stay put since he likely brought them in. And I'll also guess we'll know Jeter's fate by Friday.

It could just be me but the longer this drags out the less legs I think it has. Teddy, I think it's just you. If Rob wasn't in serious consideration for the job, he wouldn't still be in Miami on an interview that started Friday, right? Meanwhile, we're told that he's spending an extra three or four days in Miami with four weeks left during the late recruiting period. And I have a bridge in Shorewood that I'd like to sell you.

I'll see your Friday, and raise you Wednesday. As Dylan points out, that seems like an awful long time to be "hanging out" in South Beach during an awfully important time of year. Let's just hope there's not TV special where he breaks our hearts...

Why does this keep happening to us?

If it takes until Friday I'll be surprised.
Personally, I want Jeter to stay. Should he go, however, PantherU endorses Chad Boudreau as the new head coach.

It seems as though that the hand writing is on the wall. Let's just get it over with quickly.

That's because Martin is not even being considered. Miami is clearly trying to avoid the baggage that comes with Frank Martin.

I was firmly in the Jeter is staying camp. If not Martin, I'm started to move towards the Jeter is leaving camp.

If Rob were looking to leave and looking for a better basketball situation, he would have at least listened to what Dayton had to say. (a better basketball coaching opportunity than Miami) We have a Miami fan who came on this board and gave a very honest assessment of the situation for Rob. He would be going into yet another situation where he would have to build from the ground up, with a fan base and boosters who are against his hire in the first place, and Rob will need plenty of time to build the program. It could go well for Rob if he chooses to leave, and there is also a strong possibility that should it go wrong, Rob's next major offer will be from Upper Iowa or Toledo. Speaking of Toledo, is it my imagination or did someone on this board list pmck by his full last name a couple of days ago and not get corrected by anyone? Not to mention the worse part, listing him as one of the horizon leagues top coaches, and insinuating he left for greener pastures. This potential Jeter exodus must have everyone going crazy

The pmck has become a non-entity for this board, and thus the rules in reference to him have been relaxed. The D-Board still encourages some type of colorful adjectives describing the pmck, but no longer mandates pmck for every reference.

From all accounts, Beaudreau has the pedigree to take over and do a fine job. However, Keno Davis is still looking for a job and I think it would incumbent upon Costello to at least interview him.

It would? How much of our recruiting class would we keep if we take a week and hire Keno, a man who has not built a winner?

Has not built a winner? How many winners has Beaudreau built? And how many AP College Coach of the Year awards does he have?
Not saying that we even have a shot at Davis, but you don't just blindly hand the keys to Beaudreau because of our recruiting class.
