Our arena is a wonderful facility that's only Marquette's garbage because a bigger one was built. And the Bradley Center is much worse than the Cell.

The Cell is outdated and puts next to none of the money we pay to use it toward making it a Panther arena. The BC may not have the sight line of The Cell, but it trumps the Cell in amenities.

Money has nothing to do with whether or not it's "other teams' garbage." it is, however, why we plan on building a newer, nicer one.
I think we need to draw up preliminary designs for a new building before we start courting coaches. It could end up being a potential draw.

My thoughts tonight are with BP and his band of merry men who have stuck with this regime through thick and very thin, traveling to places as far-flung as Fargo and Edwardsville, Ill.
I know this is very emotional for them right now and I think at the very least all of us on this board owe them a debt of gratitude for their pie-eyed optimism. They all represent us well.
Thanks, guys, for everything you've done for Coach Jeter, his staff and the Panthers. You are truly black and gold down to your core.
I'm sorry we all have to go through this all over again.

And it's 1,000x better in amenities than the Arena. I love the Arena, but I know the BC is a much better facility.

I like watching games at the Cell more than the BC too, but I think it has more to do with the sterile, bland product of the Bucks (NBA, etc.) as opposed to the college game.
Really hoping Rob doesn't leave. I think the program has a lot of momentum heading into next season.

I have no insight but I certainly hope Rob stays. He has built our program the right way and we can all be very proud of it. But change is inevitable, and I'll never fault a guy for looking at his options and trying to improve himself.
As for the speculation that he's seeking an extension or a raise from Rick, I think some people are letting their imaginations run wild. But the reality of the profession is that you always try to gauge how solid you are, and discussions about contract renewals, extensions and compensation are a typical way to do that.
As for Bruce coming back if Rob leaves, that 's literally insane. A lot of donors would run for the exits. Starting with me.
Every AD has to have a list in his back pocket and I'm sure Rick has one. This is a rising program in a good league. There will be plenty of interest when the day comes, whether that's tomorrow or five years from now.

BP is BlackPanther (Jimmy). Not Bruce Pearl.

As for Bruce coming back if Rob leaves, that 's literally insane. A lot of donors would run for the exits. Starting with me. But would it be offset by the ones who come running toward the entrance? Those who may have been ready in 2005 if Bruce had stayed (and if Haidet had a brain for fundraising)? Like it or not, Bruce was (and largely still is) a beloved individual in this town ... all in four short years. You're right, this won't happen for other reasons. But you can't say that donors would vanish completely.
