Not really disgruntled...just want to see the program be successful. I did what I could in my time there, just providing the details that I know of.

He's not George Koonce.

I'm not looking to chastise anyone for sticking up for coach Jeter. I admire you all who still support him and think he will turn this ship around. Sadly though, after this loss to a RPI 300+ team by double digits, I'm beginning to think I was right in saying that last years 20 win season, with a watered down schedule, will be the high water mark for the Jeter era. Once again I will say..... I hope I'm wrong.

I would think the high mark for the Jeter era is in his first season in beating OU in the first round.

I would think the high mark for the Jeter era is in his first season in beating OU in the first round. I would agree that is likely the high point however... It is just not as credible to Jeter as a coach since he did it with "Pearls players". Yes he did coach the team all season and did so well but I want to see Rob bring in his own recruiting class and make it to the NCAA tourney.

Good lord can we leave this discussion behind?

Only if we can start the fire Rob Jeter yesterday thread.

No, I mean the "what Jeter years do we count as his" argument.

Good lord can we leave this discussion behind? Absolutely not, this team went flat and was down double digits to a god awful team at home in the second half. Boyle gets on a hot streak and the team lucks into an airball from 6 feet out by BGSU. Would a big win over Parkside have you thinking post-season success?!

For the SECOND time, I was saying let's leave the argument over "what Jeter years can be counted as his." By all means, continue the Fire Jeter discussion. Just get past the whole "Do you count year one, year two" blah blah bull sh*t.

There's no question that given his salary we are entitled to better results than we are getting. There's no excuse for losing to a conference foe by 30 points on your home court. There's no excuse for losing to a mid level MAC team by ANY margin on your home court.
Once again we see an unsettled rotation, a possible discipline problem, falling attendance and decreasing interest. To be honest, with the cold weather, the impending holidays and the way the Panther's have been playing, it was a close call as to whether or not we even wanted to go to Saturday's game against another weak opponent.
I'm not unhappy that I went but I sure didn't like what I saw. Yes we won, but if BSU had shot more than 10% or so in the first five minutes, that game could've been over by half time just like the CSU game was.
We haven't seen Jeter grow into this job as much as we'd have liked. We keep hearing about these great recruits but then the season starts and they either aren't as good as advertised or we're not using them right.
I don't know which it is but one thing is for sure, he shouldn't get another contract extension unless we at least make the finals of the HL tourney.

Good post Milwsport.... you know I am conflicted....the part in me that cares passionately still made me so angry decided to skip the Bowling Green game. Well, I still love the Panthers and went there and enjoyed the evening. Will keep going no matter what but then again I am a die hard (occasionally called a troll when I am not drinking the mindless Kool Aid), following since 1972....anyway....the downside is that if not passionately ticked off at underachievement are we just settling slowly but steadily back into obscurity and the days especially mid to late 90's when a few of us trolls rattled around U S Cellular and just accepted being little obscure UWM basketball. Got a taste of how wonderful the whole thing can be six years ago. Torn between loyalty and not supporting mediocrity. I fear we continue on this path and we slowly settle back into more obscurity. At the end of the day will still attend and support but kind of sad really...

Trust is a wonderful thing but not endless.... will check back with you at the end of this season . Hope we are not 14 -16 or something like that. From the eye test so far it will be a push to be .500 in the conference. Hope trust is not limited at the end of the day to 600 fans rattling around the big barn

"Well, what do you want me to say!? That things haven’t worked out the way that I’ve planned? That I’m struggling, barely able to keep my head above water? That L.A.’s a cold place even in the middle of summer? That it’s a lonely place even when you’re stuck in traffic on the Hollywood freeway? That I’m no better than the screenwriter driving a cab, the starlet turning tricks, the producer in a house he can’t afford? Is that what you want me to say!?"
