I saw an ad on JSOnline on the blackout.

"When you first enter the site, it says to "Black Out The Cell." Sounds like they'll be giving out black t-shirts when you walk in. How many of these shirts do you think will be thrown in the garbage by MU fans?" That's it?!?!?!? They send out enough emails to us season ticket holders. In fact they just sent one out today. NO mention at all about the black out. At the WMU game BB announced that it would be a black out game, and ALL fans will receive a black t. If you're a season ticket holder who didn't attend the WMU game...put on the black T and get into it. I'm sporting my Kelm retro jersey, and my son will be wearing his retro Allen jersey. The rest of the family will be in black. All six of us are looking forward to tomorrow!!! Who cares how many shirts are thrown in the garbage by MU fans. Get a grip. That's the least of my worries. Go Panthers!!!

I think it *should* be a single digit game. It should be a lively environment. I just hope a lot of UWM fans show up.
We'll see.

Let's take one day away from talking about series records and references. Please.
On the basketball front, the key to this game would certainly appear to be who the Panthers will assign to the best player on the court, Jimmy Butler.
Jimmy's exactly the kind of dynamic, athletic wing that for whatever reason UWM hasn't been able to draw to its program. A difficult matchup doesn't do Jimmy justice. Jimmy seems to live for the big stage. Witness Jimmy's ferocious jam last year in the near-upset of West Virginia.
Simply put: it's tough to stop Jimmy.
Still, Jimmy must be slowed. The question is: who will have that task? The Panthers could go big with Meier or Kelm, but I don't think either has to foot speed to stay with Jimmy.
So I expect that UWM will assign the quick-leaping Ryan Allen to try to contain Jimmy when the team's in man-to-man.
Then again, I expect a fairly substantial use of the zone to try and stop dribble penetration, which is the hallmark of the Buzz Williams system. The problem with this approach, of course, is that it compromises rebounding, especially on the weak side.
This is where UWM's power forward will have to be particularly strong. I suspect this could be a coming-out party for Kyle Kelm. If the Panthers can do an effective enough job of hiding Kyle defensively in this game, his length could create some matchup issues for the Golden Eagles on offense and on the boards.
Point guard play will also be at a premium. Last year's play was a train wreck. This year, one would like to think the direction will be a little steadier with Kaylon Williams at the helm, but his play to date has been admittedly disappointing. The Panthers need K.W. to play well.
Lots more to say.

Panthers are a 10 point dog.

That essentially means that Las Vegas considers Marquette to be about 20 points better. Seems about right.

That just means we need a little "I believe" ala Utah State. If the students actually show up tonight, this would certainly pep up our team: www.youtube.com/watch?v=44YUnOoye58

Had a dream about the game...but the game was over too fast and I didn't know what the outcome is...now I HAVE to come to the game...think it will realistically be Marquette, 75-71.

Simply put: it's tough to stop Jimmy. I hope I don't hear/see much of this tonight: "Jimmy's under the boards. Jimmy's in the open. Jimmy makes the shot." Regardless, George likes spicy chicken.

nohopspanther said it best in an earlier post, "The Jeter experiment has failed." Unfortunately this game will be over in the first 8:30. After watching this team the last six games they will be lucky to finish above .500 in the horizon league.

If the Milwaukee team that played WMU shows up this game will be over fast. If the team that played UNI in the first half shows up it will be close. I'm expecting the first half UNI team to show up.
