Milwaukee can't play that bad on Saturday as they did on Tuesday night. Milwaukee needs to make MU beat them with the three. MU stinks from the outside this year. Milwaukee needs to win the rebounding battle and 2nd chance points. 5 years into the Rob Jeter experiment and even with a major improvement in recruiting, we still have no semblance of an offensive or defensive system. Literally the sets are unrecognizable from one game to the next and it feeds into the poor shooting. I looked forward to this game for a long time, here it is and I'm going to the Badgers vs Northwestern to see them play for a trip to the Rose Bowl instead. BTW, even the badgers have failed to sell out 2 of the games I've gone to this year and this will be the third that falls short. 1-badger game starts at 2:30, this game starts at 8, you could go to both if you dont hang around afterwards 2-what are you talking about wisconsin not selling out

Wisconsin football, I think. San Jose St, Austin Peay and tickets are still left for Northwestern.

Last night was a very bitter pill to swallow (felt like the Twilight Zone to me), but it is now water under the bridge. Let's move on- that was not the Horizon League Tourney. It was one more non-con loss that shouldn't have been- but it's not the end. Let's get out there and give Marquette our best shot. Our best may be enough to topple this Marquette squad. Remember we don't ALWAYS shoot like we did last night. If we do- we'll lose by 25. If we shoot in the 46% range (and make 67% of our FTs)... we'll make this one helluva a Saturday night in downtown Milwaukee. tinyurl.com/28zex2n

The one time UWM ever seemed to play Marquette like they were trying to prove something, it was a five-point game at halftime. This is going to be a single-digit loss.

"This is going to be a single-digit loss."
So, is Davonte Gardner playing or not?
If he is, that's big trouble and negates just about any significant size advantage we enjoy. If not, that creates a lot of room for Anthony Hill -- the good one, not his evil twin -- to operate.

You mean the evil Anthony Hill that only pivots right, takes 5 minutes to gather himself when receiving an entry pass before making a move, and gives up defensively?

Yep.
The one who takes an entry feed and takes three dribbles in the paint before giving the ball away.

Ant Hill is the least of our concerns. He has consistenly gotten better and we are all going to realize how much better this offense is with him when he is gone next year.

Without Anthony Hill playing at a high level, this team will have no chance playing against the lesser teams on its schedule (i.e. Western Michigan), let alone the really good ones (i.e. MU).
Please don't absolve Ant of his lackadaisical play Tuesday against WMU. He certainly wasn't part of the solution in that abominable game.
As for next year, wait until you get a load of James Haarsma. He'll be a beast on the blocks. Truth be told, I never really know why anyone looks beyond the year at hand until all hope for the present year is completely lost.

Ant was the key to our late success last season. As a senior, he needs to get his game together fast for us to have any real chance at winning. Even if the shots aren't falling, keep asserting down low, keep touching the paint, and make decisive moves to the hoop. He's going to have work hard and SMART this Saturday. No silly fouls like we've seen the last couple outings.

To be fair to Ant, three of those fouls against UNI were HIGHLY questionable.
But you can expect more of the same. This is a home game, but it's going to be BIG EAST refs and a well-"traveled" away crowd.

To the guy who said uwm doesn't run an offense since jeter took over. if you know anything about basketball you can see that the last couple years the team has been running a dribble drive motion. really the only time they run plays is out of timeouts deadballs just like pretty much alot of teams in the country do.

His 5th foul against UNI was a terrible decision, especially since his presence on the floor is too important to this team's success. With MU coming off two losses, Buzz is going to have their butts in gear tomorrow. Milwaukee has to be near perfect to win this game. MU by 15 which I am assuming will cover the spread (I haven't seen a number yet.)

They also intersperse the swing from time to time to control tempo. It's what they did to start the second half last year against Niagara.
