Heck, if you want to go down that train of thought think of another urban school that has only been around LESS than 50 years. Houston. What do they have, 5 Final Fours or something like that plus Cotton Bowl titles, Heisman trophy winners, etc. Pretty impressive for such a young school. Once again another MU post, and another blantant error in the facts. The University of Houston was founded in 1927. Even with MU math, you should be able to see that is far more than the "less than 50 years" you stated. In fact Houston played it's in first bowl game 5 years before UWM was even founded (the Salad Bowl on January 1, 1951.) Furthermore, it's the flagship campus of it's own system. That hardly compares with a school founded in 1956, as a very distant second to the UW-Madison flagship campus. But let's not confuse the issue with the facts huh? Milwsport...you got me damn good on that one. I don't know why I said Houston, but I sure as hell did. Guilty as charged. It will come to me who I actually meant....looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.

What option is that? Are you Deuce Bigelow or something? LOL if/when my g/f and i get married, her parents spend a buttload of money at xmas time for family members. since i'd be in the family, i'd be apart of that spending spree. so i could possibly not pay for season tix for quite some time as an MU grad would be paying for them for me .

It's not worth it. The tix aren't that expensive.

I heard 'Holic likes going to MU games just so he can here Sandstorm 500 times a game . Actually, I would like to see 'Holic during the "We are Marquette cheer", I can vision his girlfriend standing up and cheering and 'Holic refusing to get out of his seat.

Fred, I think we're somewhat agreeing here. To illustrate the point about mid-majordom, the remnants of Conference USA (and new members Tulsa and Central Florida) have a combined eight NCAA tournament wins (the ultimate measure of success) over the last four seasons. Only one of those, by the way, was against a top 25 team (UAB over Kentucky in 2004). The Missouri Valley Conference, by comparison, has seven wins over the same time span. All but two of those (Southern Illinois over St. Mary's in 2005; Wichita State over Seton Hall in 2006) were against teams in the top 25. So the question begs: If Conference USA isn't a mid-major, what is the MVC?

As previously stated, Conf USA was a high-major back in the day, but now is a mid + Memphis. MVC is clearly a mid, but should a major's classification be based on tourney wins, or an amalgamation of all teams in the conference. I would say it's the latter.

akowsense, If MU plays at the Cell, I hope UWM puts my favorite Marquette picture of all time on the jumbo-tron. The one that so accurately depicts the Student fan base of Marquette ;D.
