......Lawrence and Werch had serious off season injury problems. First of all, grow the F up and show some class. Oh that's right you're from GB, nevermind. But seriously, calling us all crack heads, what are you 15? Secondly, perhaps Lawrence and Werch had serious injury problems because they're not the strongest, most durable athletes that you make them out to be. And using injuries as an "excuse" is not acceptable. Show me a team that doesn't have to deal with injuries in some way. And finally...I just don't see UWGB being the 1st place team any time soon. Evanoshko is a legit 1st teamer, I'll give you that, but every year it seems that GB falls short of the pre-season expectations. I'm going to go "milk my cow" and smoke some crack now...

Well then, it was really only a matter of time before the pride of UWGB found this board. Green Bay finished third in conference this season after losing virtually their whole team the year before, which is pretty admirable considering the parity in the conference this year.
This recruiting class we have coming in absolutely floors the class that the Phoenix brought in last season. I will guarantee that we will be a threat to take the HL championship once again next year. I agree with previous posts that state that the battle will be between the Western schools. My prediction:
1) LU 2) UWM 3) UWGB 4) UIC 5) UDM 6) BU 7) YSU 8) CSU 9) WSU

it would be nice if you told us WHO is in your recruiting class that will come in and instantly make your team a contenter again......because it usually doesn't work like that. I understand being biased towards your school but after losing 7 seniors its unpresidented a school to come back and be as strong.
For one thing you create unrealistic expectations for your young coach.....
Also creating those unrealistic expectations will make your school look worst next year when a bunch of inexperienced guys will be expected to compete for the top of the league...IMO UWM will be overachieving with a 4th place

How are our expectations unrealistic?
What he did with this team this year is remarkable in my mind. They were very senior-laden and stuck in their ways. If you watched the team progress during the season like we did, maybe you'd understand.
I'm not the recruit expert but I get updates on guys everyday... I'm just horrible with names.

The last time we lost seven seniors we heard the same thing, "you guys are done." Funny thing is that no one told that to the rest of the team, which came back and won the league.
Halo, we have some excellent recruits already on board. You will be very surprised by our strength at both guards positions. Our guards will be the best in the league. The big question mark is at forward and center but then maybe we'll do a Villanova and run a four guard offense.
Point is that while we probably won't be as strong as we were this year, an excellent coach and a good recruit or two can still make us competitive.

Who says you have to be as strong as we were this year to win the conference next year? The winner of this conference might limp away with a 10-6 record with how good the top five (maybe even six) could be next season... not to mention the unpredictability of the Ohio schools.
That will certainly help us, parity often helps younger teams. If you want an example, look at UWGB... they won their home games and watched as everyone else beat the crap out of each other.

Best guards in the league? ......very strong statement especially when you are talking about a group of guys with average talent and no experience...... I never said that UWM will never be good again.....I just said that given the returning team and the recruits it will be an unpresidented task to win the league.....fourth or fifth will be overachieving for that group of guys..... again.....you guys do not offer any specifics.....any info.... Someone said that Green Bay underachieving every year.... For the last three years Green Bay finished signficantly better than where the coaches placed them in the preseason poll.......I think that is called OVERachieving... As about Kowalczyk.....I agree that he have said lots of weird staff during his tenure. I understand how bad was his statement about FDU. But give him credit for getting a team with no seniors, starting three freshmen to the third place of the league. Give him credit for beating a UWM team on national TV. A team that featured 7 seniors and A LOT of talent....

Also, you talk about us not using details, but you're using vague statistics yourself. I want to know exactly where they were picked to finish and where they finished each of the last three years if you use that argument.

poor man has said and done enough to where my credit towards him has been suspended indefinetely. Most on this board feel the same way.
The only team that might have better guards in the HL than us next year will be Detroit... and only because of Brandon Cotton. These guys coming in are good.
Keep in mind, some of us can't discuss specifics on recruits due to the sources of information that we have. It's better for those sources if we don't mention some names yet. (Not that I'd remember them)

2004-05 preseason 3rd finished 2nd...... 2005-06 preaseason 7nth finished 3rd..... ANYTHING ELSE? Sure. 2003-04 -- 3rd place regular season finish ... L in first conf tourney game (2nd round). 2004-05 -- 2nd place regular season finish ... L in first conf tourney game (semifinals). 2005-06 -- Tied for 3rd place (with five other teams) regular season finish ... L in second conf tourney game (25-point loss to a team that lost in league championship by nearly 20). If you want to know who is coming in, check the recruitment section of this site ... no one should feel obligated to educate you. Every time I try to get out, they drag me back in!
