this discussion is so damn annoying...this halo guy is comparing apples to oranges...what if any reason has pmck given anything for GB fans to be truly happy about...green bay fans are content with average showings and think that because on paper these kids had good seasons it will automatically mean success next year. Lets remember here...those kids will still be soph's..still young and still need some growth..im telling you if GB wants to make the tourney next year is it. Those kids will be Juniors without a proven player at guard...if they step up and evanashko improves and gets those bigs involved they will see success...but lets just say those freshman need to grow up quick and will need to play more physical...and in all honesty..pmck is a great instate recruiter...I have serious doubts about him being able to coach that team to victory though

Mr. Kowalczyk/Halo -- please stop with the penis envy towards our coach and program. You should be very happy with your recent accomplishments (0 conference titles, and 0 tournament appearances). You very well could be the conference favorite "next" year so be humble, and look forward to the future. Also best of luck in running off more players (Tyler Koenig/Simon Farine), losing your team more basketball games (Technical Foul during semi-final game against Detroit), not keeping track of your players academics (Brandon Morris), bashing your own conference (Farleigh Dickerson), and recruiting more rapists (Ontario Mckee). You're a class act all the way ;D

I will admit, all I know about UWM's recuits I read here, so it would be unfair for me to judge based on that. I will say this. Tillema and Schactner improved as last season went on. Having one year under their belt will help. What they did in high school compared to Tigert and Page isn't really relevant. Will they have as much success as those two did over their four years? Only time will tell, but there's a lot of basketball to be played yet. I like your style, gbturnbow59, but I think high school success does have some relevance in evaluating a recruit's skills. There are, of course, other things, such as athleticism and an aptitude to progress rapidly, but I think that's reflected in how you perform in high school, as well. Both A.T. and Dylan did that progressed quickly. Schactner and Tillema seem to be doing that as well. I'm just saying that I think they didn't seem to have quite the same pedigree out of high school as Tigert and Page. I'm still just kind of wait-and-see on both Tillema and Schactner. They had impressive numbers this year, but other than Lawrence, were there really any better options in the frontcourt? But you're right, we won't know exactly how they've panned out for another three seasons.

The One Who Is Begging for A Big Job Jeter was turned down by Iowa State. They know that this wasn't his team. And that he underachieved this year. He knew that this would be his chance......thats why he begged......Same situation with Stan Heath........he got a great Kent State team back and took them to the elite eight. Then he cashed is with his hire at Arkansas. So....you guys have the Poor Mans Stan Heath!!!! He has his work cut out......he will need to keep his ties with Coach Ryan......in a couple of years he might be looking for a job!!!! Ok Coach K, since no one has ever expressed interest in you here's how it works. 1) You have a successful season, in other words you win more games than you lose, normally enough to win the regular season conference crown. 2) As part of that season you make it to the post season (this would entail winning more than one game in the conference tourney, unless your Duke or someone like that) 3) You win at least one game in the post season (this would entail winning the conference tourney) 4) You actually improve the program and seem like you know how to coach 5) You wait for the phone to ring

Jeter even publicly stated that he wasn't looking for a job but one was looking for him. Iowa State's AD used to work at UW's athletic dept. which is how he knows Jeter. hell, the interview took place at Bo Ryan's house! oh, and thanks for re-emphasizing my previous point about how GB fans' only highlight from this season was beating us. u just keep making me look smarter. can one of the mods check halo/poor mans coach k's IP address to see if it is from Dyckesville, WI either under his name or Julie's?

"Now 2006-2007 will be a different story. Green Bay at least in paper is much better than UWM. " Halo, just wait until the roster is completed. Back to back NCAA first round wins attract solid recruits, not chumps. Rob Jeter is also known as one of the elite recruiters in the Midwest. Don't get too c***y until you actually know what you're up against. Wait two weeks and you'll know what we have. If you actually think Hanson and Smith are starting for us, then you're crazy.

Iowa State considered ONLY Jeter and McDermott. McDermott got the job because he has strong ties to the state of Iowa.
I'm pretty sure it's a good source, because it's Jamie Pollard.
