Give credit to the Journal because they haven't jumped on the rumor mill. You can give them credit for not "jumping on the rumor mill," but I will just give them credit for being lazy! IMO their coverage of this has been sketchy, at best.

But I think they are only talking to people in our AD and those people are probably Bud and our Sports Info director, and those are two people that are probably pretty hard to get a hold of right now. Besides, they've now got the news update section on the website that is normally pretty good about getting stories out to people when they happen.
Besides, why write anything when there is really nothing to report? Nothing has changed on the coaching front since that last article was written. If it has, the AD doesn't want the public to know about it yet.

Thank you for thinking this through, NeedMoreFans -- if, even when reporters reach Haidet and others, they say much at all. They really may not be able to do so. Hiring is a personnel issue and matter of strict law, especially at a public (government) university. The law as well as courtesy to candidates (we do not want to get, for the next time around, a bad reputation as a campus that makes a mess for those not hired) require that not much be said unless and until everything is set. Those of us who have been in a hiring situation in the government (and that's what this is) know this is really full of legal rules and bureaucratic steps -- and few us have media and fans watching every move we make.

Enough with I know somebody who knows somebody who know something about it. I heard Henery Biby was going to be the next UWM coa...........................damn it, he signed with the Sparks. We all need a little laugh this afternoon with an obscere UWM 90's player reference so.................
Lets get back to the Butch topic, if I wanted a 7 footer that can't finish around the hole, I think Olivier DeSmedt still has a few years of Elgilibility left.
Just tring to lighten the mood around here folks!!

So... Put Lane Evans in!!!! Look it up Man, I don't even have a clue who that is........I thought there was a Craig Evans here in the early 90's, but haven't the slightest who Lane is..... I like the Olivier reference, though.......haha Nice enough guy, but soft as a twinkie.

I thought the no Butch talk was the joke to lighten the mood - he would have easily started at UWM the last two years, which would have allowed AT and Joah to play the 4 and 3 positions that they really belong at anyway.
Also, I still can't get past the idea of there not being enough quality players in Wisconsin. Milwaukee alone has so many good players leaving for greener pastures or being under-recruited that all our new coach will have to do to find talent is pick up the kids in the Metro area who are currently being ignored. Add in a few wins for the cream of the crop and find a player or two from other parts of the state and a team could compete with anyone in the country with just Wisconsin talent.
OK, back to the silly stuff - did Joe Schulz wear #30?

He was 6'7" forward from Dayton, Ohio. I think he scored 8 points once against Lakeland - that says it all. Craig Evans came to UWM in '92. Old School!!! ;D

you have to be kidding me on whether we would want brian butch at this point. we havent gotten that high and mighty. This year we had one true center in Derrick Ford and he couldnt even play in the horizon. (Although if he could just work on hanging on to the ball inside he will be fine next year)

I talked to Joe Schulz the other day - actually both he and Olafu called me looking for tickets to the Illinois game......haha like I had some kind of special "in" to get tickets - I only got 1 stinkin ticket. Anyways, next time I see him I will ask him about his number. Maybe that is the underlying reason I haven't been able to shoot since I left UWM, it wasn't me (or my skills), it was really just the jersey! haha ;D I have to give it to you mcdadenets50, you are either a). hard core old school UWM fan, or b). you have a plethera of media guides at your fingertips! haha In which case you are still hard core. - I will give you the benefit of the doubt, and assume the former.
