Guess I am one of those old grumpy people. I am absolutely disgusted and mortified. Again, just when you start getting some trust. Back to moving to the KC which was a debacle and set the program back immensely. Then the academic probation literally right after the tourney. Now this. I smell a rat. ie, money related. How can there be any trust or credibility. I loved Lundy but now I am disgusted. Slap in the face also to season ticket holders to play all these games at the KC but then this on top of it. Frankly, they sholnd get a refund . Good luck selling more in future when there is obviously no respect in pulling the rug out anytime the AD feels like it. Coach I am struggling now with respecting you. I have really grown to respect and love Scott Warreis broadcasts but to see him sucking up and spewing crap about the great Klotsche center made me want to puke. He is a shameless suck up....Lastly, how in the hell is lundy going to recruit with the Klotsche as our main venue. got to be kdding. It is a tick above a freaking high school gym. Embarassing ....no amenities...cheap pile of crap. Shame on all of them. No you arent Steve some of these new fans and posters dont understand that weve been through this song and dance before.

Indeed. I feel insulted as a long time Panther supporter. Those little fist bumps made my skin crawl.

I want the tournament back to the old format. The reality is that it isn’t right now. All we can focus on right now is the present, why worry about what’s going on in the future when we have this team right now ready to go on a run? How realistic is the hope of the tournament reverting to the old format? The League office clearly wanted the current format. They were, in my estimation, hoping for a tournament in Indy all along and were willing to accept Detroit as a compromise until they could sell Indy as a better option. I am sure fans from all over complained, but the fans weren't the ones who got to make the decision. As long as companies like Barbasol are willing to pay for naming rights, and they have decent money coming in from broadcasts, arguments based on higher attendance will have little effect. Plus they have all that sweet sweet yoga money coming in...

I'm glad I was able to find and talk to Adam just now. I voiced our concerns, and he told me, "This (decision) is just about Thursday." And, "Our intention is 14-16 games here (the Arena) next year." He indicated it was more of a short-term decision by the coaches and players for just the HLT.
Oh, and he did say, "Yeah, I agree, the K sucks."

As long as it’s just for Thursday’s game, I think it’s an ok decision.

Yeah, kind of a "strike the iron while it's hot" decision, but I told Adam this still isn't a great look for the program overall in trying to sell for the future, and he seemed to agree and understand.

Klotsche absolutely sucks. I haven’t stepped foot in the KC since Baldwin’s first year. I skipped every game played there when I had season tickets. If the team moves back permanently, I’ll never go to a home game again. It’s that simple. It’s not even a challenge at this point! Show some goddamn pride in the program and don’t play at a venue that’s D3 quality!

Issues with the K.
Location. You have a few major roads in. Locust..Capitol..North Ave. Nothing close to the freeway.
Parking. It's terrible you have to park twice because..
Food Options. There are not many quality spots within walking distance where you could park and walk over. Best options being North Ave and maybe some spots in Shorewood.
Now. If there was some magical 5k seat arena that would work. Until the fans come back and pack the Arena it does feel empty at times.

I know it was. They were all raving about how loud we got it on Thursday. Can you blame them for wanting that advantage for the tournament? I mean come on If it was more of the team's choice, I can live with that. They had said before that they love the loud crowds, so I get that. But also, the Arena is what Bart has been selling since he's been here. He's used it as a recruiting tool so far, and he talked about his love for the history there. As for long term, the Arena DOES need much more modernization of the overall amenities (concourse and such) to last more than another 10 years, however, if this is an option: Marquette's lease at Fiserv is only through 2025, because they're looking at using a more moderate-sized campus arena for most of their games, with Fiserv as an option for games with larger crowds. Long-term, IF we either massively upgrade the KC or build a modern alternative on campus, capacity of 6-7,000, then the Arena for bigger games, that's a possibility to explore too. And lastly, if this is truly a case of the players and coaches agreeing to this, then why didn't Bart at least suggest that this was a team-oriented decision? It's easier to accept and doesn't give the impression that the Ath. dept made a rash impulsive careless decision. The picture being painted overall of this is not flattering at all for the Athletic department and the team. The idea of playing at several different venues in the same season is ludicrous. Fans will get confused as to where the game is. I led the effort to get the K built back in the 70's. It was NEVER meant for D-1 Men's basketball. Not to mention the HL requirement of 5,000 seat venues. The K has at most 3,500.

So glad that turned people turned out like this tonight!

If the program can legitimately create a sixth man atmosphere by replacing a couple hundred grumpy old men with a couple thousand energized students, and put them in the face of the opponent for the biggest game of the season, it makes total sense to me. I see where Bart is coming from. I applaud Amanda for getting out of the way to let Bart do what he feels is best to win. He is a winner. She clearly recognizes that. Winners sometimes have to make tough decisions that may not always be popular with some. Isn't that what we wanted in a head coach? The amount of people freaking out about this is absurd and proves that we have some grumpy old guys here. They’d rather have 2000 people in a 10000 seat arena than have a wild environment for a home conference tournament game. I am not in favor of a full time move to the K by any means, but absolutely for this game I am in favor. The home court advantage we created on Thursday was insane. I’m confident it will be even louder this upcoming Thursday. Pray for the team we have to play because it’s going to be hell for them to endure… 3300 tonight says your 2000 is way off. People love playoff basketball, thursday at the Arena was the easiest sell ever, and as usual we fumbled the bag.
