I hope those in the AD who have been around awhile made it clear to Coach how this would be received by many in the fan base. They sure as hell better win Thursday... I'm less tempted to go Thursday. Really, nobody should go, so they get the message that it's not a smart decision at all.

I agree and understand Lundy’s decision which I think is wise. There are only a few ways to grow the program. Build a 5,000 seat arena closer to campus, pump a ton money into The K ( should be done just for The Women’s Program ), or stay downtown. Staying Downtown in my view also creates reinvention. You still need to average 5 to 6 thousand fans per game Downtown. There was a greater buzz this year but I was disappointed for the most part with attendance. This is not the time to dwell on the topic. Winning the next game is most important. The crowd at the Fort Wayne game was awesome and there was plenty of room to double the awesomeness. Go Panthers!

If Milwaukee ever wants to grow out of the "UW-" stepchild it has always been, it needs to prepare for the future. Maybe an Kohl-Center-like on-campus Arena with ample parking could be worked out for the long-term. If we just kill the Arena lease and decide to play at the K (with no backup plan?), I dunno... Give the money we save to the players, I guess. If UWM allows the Arena lease to lapse at the end of June, it won't have to worry about getting the same caliber of players. Is tonight the last game at the Arena for the foreseeable future? "On June 26, 2014, it was announced that the Arena would be renamed the UW–Milwaukee Panther Arena, as part of an agreement which would run at least through 2024, with UWM having an option to extend it through 2029."Does the lease expire end of 2023 or end of 2024? Maybe the Uni's need for a large graduation facility every 3-4 months will help that lease get extended. But if the team doesn't want to play there... I dunno. This program does not lack drama. No better way to force this issue than to move a playoff game to the KC. I don't want to be Debby Downer or dwell on it, but it is certainly now a topic of discussion. Maybe for after the season.

If the program can legitimately create a sixth man atmosphere by replacing a couple hundred grumpy old men with a couple thousand energized students, and put them in the face of the opponent for the biggest game of the season, it makes total sense to me. I see where Bart is coming from.
I applaud Amanda for getting out of the way to let Bart do what he feels is best to win. He is a winner. She clearly recognizes that.
Winners sometimes have to make tough decisions that may not always be popular with some. Isn't that what we wanted in a head coach?

I was just asking questions. And I'd prefer not to be "replaced". I'll support this program though H or H. But continue generalizing and stereotyping.

Here come the sunshine and rainbows from Arizona... 😒 Show me the few thousand students. I'll believe that sh*t when I see it. I sure as Hell didn't see it in 2012-13, when I WAS A STUDENT! It's pure LAZINESS. They don't want to do the necessary marketing in order to fill Panther Arena, pure and simple. If you put some sunglasses on for a change, you could recognize that.

Students only show up when the team is good...whether at the Klotsche or the arena. Plus they are not paying customers. Milwaukee should pay much more attention to the "grumpy old men". If this is just a decision specific to this game, then OK. If this is a long term decision, this is a huge mistake.

Positive: *2/3 of the student section being loud (I was at the last game. there were still a LOT of student fans who wouldn't stand and cheer for any reason at all.), making the smaller space seem louder. *Giving the appearance of a larger crowd. Negative: *Not being taken seriously by the rest of MKE as a division-1 program. How do you market us as a d1 program with a sub-par d3 arena (at best). *Less of a downtown presence. Marquette gets to claim Milwaukee as all their own. *Fewer season-ticket holders wanting to sit in a flimsy gym-arena. *Top-level recruits choosing the chance to play at Fiserv Forum (or right next door to it), or playing in a gym that is worse quality than their high school. HMMMM.... *Not able to convince more prestigious conferences to take us in, so we can move out of the HL and its atrocious officiating. *No bringing top-quality d1 opponents to play us in Non-conf games. More crap games against MSOE or Cardinal Stritch.

Got word that they will make adjustments to enhance the experience. I'm sure details will follow on Wednesday. While I'm disappointed as a fan. 1,200 in the Klotsche Center is tons louder than UWM Panther Arena. If that gives them a advantage as they practice in that place as well, why not. We all want to get to Indy. No matter how you polish a piece of sh*t, it's still a piece of sh*t. Yep. I'm no fan of the Klotsche Center. Sound system sucks. Video boards sucks. Chairback seats suck. No incline.

Bart Lundy was just on 97.3FM -Edwards and Browning could be back on Monday. -March 2 will be at the Klotsche Center. "That was a decision I made" Coach Lundy. "We are 5-0 on that floor. That place is much louder. It gives is our best chance to get to Indy." That final part had to be the softest answer ive ever heard, yeah easy to beat d3 schools and bum ass low major schools at the K center.

Eh, the quality of opponents at the K this year have been on par with the the quality of opponents at the Panther Arena. The best wins have come at Panther Arena (YSU, NKU), and the losses at Panther Arena have either been overtime (GB, WSU) or at least down to the wire (UST), so the team’s performance hasn’t been wildly worse at Panther Arena this year.

NKU is playing Oakland right now. If Oakland wins NKU will be locked in as the #4 seed and would play Oakland again in the 4/5 matchup.

i favor being at the arena. historic landmark, easier location to get to, place actually looks like a d-1 arena. THe K isnt, period. i was there thursday night. yes the kids were loud but it was a smaller venue , the kind you'd see at d-2 or d-3, rather than at a d-1 program trying to make a name fir itself.
