There's far more nefarious characters than you working in college athletics, Jimmy.

There's far more nefarious characters than you working in college athletics, Jimmy. But their skeletons are in the closet, the door is locked and the keys were thrown away. Jimmy's skeletons are on the showroom floor.

The story of that day should and must be the new coach, the potential he brings to us and how successful he's been. On the first day in a long time where fans might see a glimmer of hope, the last thing we need is negativity or distractions.
I agree that Ms. Braun is a terrible AD. I agree that she should be held responsible. But there is a time and a place for that and this isn't it.
I logged in to see what the fans who are left think of the new Coach and what ways people suggest for how we can support him. Instead the lead post is a rehashing of Amanda Braun's many sins instead of a list of things we could do to improve the situation and get the program back on track despite Ms. Braun.

I agree with the sentiment that it's unfair to hold the misdeeds of Braun against Coach Lundy because Braun hired Coach Lundy. I would hope for people to judge Coach Lundy based on his own merits and welcome him with an open mind to the Milwaukee Panthers community.

Jimmy,
At the risk of doing the old "Dutch Uncle" thing you would be GREAT in key AD position. No one more passionate, creative, hard working and smart as a whip. Here is the thing. Bureaucracies do not reward innovation generally but see it as a pain. They want keeping the radar screen as a humm if at all possible. They need but do not want creative tension. Sad but true. I have spent oer 40 years in corporate world and bureaucracy and frankly a lot like you. Do not suffer fools, not afraid to bring ideas forward. This has led to various situations where my "raging against the machine" if you will resulted in being jettisoned even though results were excellent. A number of years ago I pivoted away from the large national insurance carrier corporate game to more of a creative and sales focused situation , that being a local insurance broker w2here clients come first not serving the bureaucracy and politicking. Jimmy, do not regret speaking out . YOu have to be yourself and frankly if you do not it ultimately leads to frustration. Would you be great? YES. Could it be sustained, maybe not and you would eventually become unhappy and frustrated. My guess is the academic bureauracy is likely even more self serving and the corporate business model. Certainly more insulated aand all about surviving and keeping head down. That is not you to their detriment.

I like the metamorphosis of this thread title from wanting the current AD's confession to Jimmy being the AD. Gotta love social media!

What frustrates me is knowing that if they're willing to properly utilize athletics, a successful basketball program is self-serving for academics. Anybody know anyone who was faculty at Madison through the 1980's and 90's? I'd like to hear their thoughts on how successful athletics changed things positively for them.
