Why does "jmartin" act like no one is aware of the practice facility? Everyone here is well aware of it, and has been for quite some time. Because the poster named "BBFran" is propagating a narrative that men's basketball isn't a priority. The new practice facility for the basketball program contradicts his narrative. As does the naming rights to the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena and the hiring of a well respected head coach who brings 20 years of head coaching experience (combined in D1 and D2) with an overall record of 433–189.

It's readily apparent that you are a shill for the Athletic Dept., and that's fine, but Fran has his reasons for feeling the way he does about our current AD. Those reasons are valid. The list of people she's done wrong with regards to men's basketball in the past is long and distinguished.
Remember this as you tout the resume of our new coach to sell her committment to the men's basketball program:
She just wasted 5 years on a coach who had been not so much as a lead assistant for any program at any time, and it showed for every single one of the 149 games he coached here. Then, she inexplicably gave him an unearned one year extension, which the university is now on the hook for while he sits on his ass, because he'll likely never work in college basketball again.
If Amanda Braun has always been so committed to men's basketball, as you allege, then why wasn't a coach with a resume like Bart Lundy hired instead of Pat Baldwin? Baldwin didn't have a resume worthy of being the head coach of Germantown High School when she hired him.
Fran just wants a humble admission of past mistakes, and frankly, the supporters of this program deserve it. I don't think you understand the good that would do, and it wouldn't cost her more than a couple minutes of her time.

Any claim that I do is completely false and baseless.

Oh, please sell me on Pat Baldwin's resume that screamed "successful head coach." I'd love to hear that breakdown.. And as someone who has a litany of "dumbass" posts yourself, at least you come from a position of experience.

That's a very good question. That's a question appropriate for Chancellor Mone and Amanda Braun. Despite conspiratorial allegations, I have no affiliation or connection with the athletic department or Amanda Braun.

More so talking about your idiotic claim that he will never work in college basketball again and didn't have the resume to coach Germantown HS. I am not a huge fan of hiring Power 5 assistants, but let's not act like it doesn't happen literally all the time. Many guys are great recruiters/assistants, get their first head coaching job off that and turn out to be terrible head coaches. There's a reason why I love the Lundy hire so much.

AD Braun, or AD Braun's PR improvement person, or positivity bot or whatever you are (the last one would be kinda cool and cheaper than a PR person, if the poster were Amanda herself- kudos; it shows you care and want to engage to make amends for the sins of the past... if that is possible). However- and I can't take the time to research it because ppl on this board can recall immediately when the practice facility became part of student seg fees. I recall it to be around 2010-2011, well before the current AD (you?) got here. Yes, awesome that it eventually became a reality. But I don't think this proves the AD has been committed to men's hoops. Heck the cheerleaders and band didn't show up to the finale/postseason game. And the school didn't seem to care that a full gamecast was not in the books.. Whether any of us care or not (I personally don't care a lot about any of these)- it creates a perception. And that has been the issue. Really since the ignominious firing of Robert Jeter. A lot of this could have been avoided with a simple "I messed up- that wasn't the right way to do things". Or an even simpler, "OK, Mr. Nocholas, we'll let the team play a few more games if you'll pay for it". But sheer spite had to destroy a community. I hope OHOW improves recruiting and that we can get consistently good enough to draw the kind of interest that brought many of us to this discussion board in the first place. I'm cautiously optimistic that Lundy will be the kind of coach this now sorta moribund program needs.

Frankly, the previous 3 head coaching hires being formerly assistant coaches without any head coaching experience has been perplexing to understand.

I'm impressed with Coach Lundy's head coaching experience and his reputation among his coaching peers.
I'm hopeful that Coach Lundy can turn this program around.

if the poster were Amanda herself- kudos; Darnit. Well my last posts summarize why a lot of people (well the people who are left) have been asking for a change in athletics management. It really just boils down to trustworthiness.

I don't believe he will, unless his alma mater brings him back to his old job doing laundry. Also, he doesn't win enough to coach at Germantown. You can't debate that, and I didn't even go there.
