Do they have a alumni/booster screening committee as part of a head coaching process, similar to an AD search, or is it just the AD handling the entire process?

If there is such a committee can it please have different people than participated in past how many AD searches and hires as would not be beneficial to coaching search either -

Lamont Paris has done a great job in Chattanooga, culminating in what will be a postseason appearance this year for sure (likely NCAA). He has ties to Wisconsin. He would be my #1. This job still should be considered a step up from the Chatt town Mocs, despite its current state.
After that, someone with a similar profile would work. Time as an assistant, and then proven HC success. STOP 🛑 with the Sharrif Chambliss and Krabbenhoft nonsense. We might have just kept Baldwin if we’re going to hire another assistant coach that doesn’t know WTF they are doing as a HC.

We have better facilities and pay more (he currently makes $250k). Despite the Horizon being down, we are typically a better conference than the Southern. We may not be the best offer he gets, but if he wanted to come back to Wisconsin, who knows. We should, at the very least, be exploring him as a candidate.

We CAN NOT hire another assistant. I repeat, we CAN NOT hire another assistant, without head coaching experience who isn't a proven recruiter. No more learning on the job. Additionally, who trust AB to make the correct "up and coming" assistant. How about we hire a proven one that demands excellence and who needs another chance before heading back to a Power 5 or a proven mid-major hire:
Mark Turgeon LeVelle Moton Chris Mack Dan Majerle John Thompson III Jason Capel
Stop swinging small because only a big hire can save this program.

I think it's important to recognize that a junior college head coach with a long-run of success may be more prepared for transfer-portal era. It's no longer about recruiting and developing, it's all about using your resources to put the best team on the floor year-after-year.
Steve Forbes and Mark Adams were both extremely successful in NJCAA Division I.
Look to Junior Colleges for the next HC.

Yes let’s hire a coach that is losing their job because they couldn’t coach and win games
