I think we can all at least agree that by her own standards Braun has been a spectacular failure. You start the process of trying to rehabilitate the program with a new AD. That’s up to Chapman Hall. No way around that.

The UW System Board of Regents is comprised of 18 regents. Here's the the number of UW System Board of Regents with degrees from each UW System University. The asterisk notes a current student. Here's the source for this information: www.wisconsin.edu/regents/about-the-regents/Here's the undergraduate enrollment from the fall semester of each school year from 2011 through 2021 for UW-Madison and UW-Milwaukee as well as the change in undergraduate enrollment compared to the previous fall semester. Here's the recap of the undergraduate enrollment at UW-Madison and UW-Milwaukee for Fall 2011 and Fall 2021. Here's the source for the enrollment data: www.wisconsin.edu/education-reports-statistics/enrollments/

Amazing the hypocrisy of Amanda Braun. Please don't allow her to make another hire!!!! There’s a big difference in having the funds available to fire someone with a year left on their contract and not having the funds available to fire someone with a year left on their contract. If funds were available, they were probably reallocated to offset however much was lost from Covid. I had the same thought, but it’s debatable whether she really had the funds to fire Jeter a year earlier either. After all, it wasn’t a good look to send our team on an international trip due to budget cuts elsewhere in the university.

Mone doesn’t care about athletics, period. Expecting him to have a “come to Jesus” moment won’t happen. He’s going to need people internally to be a voice for athletics. One place to start would be Joan Nesbitt. She’s the new Vice Chancellor of Development and Alumni Relations. Her email is nesbitjm@uwm.edu. The problem isn’t just Mone, it’s everyone else also doesn’t care. There’s been no push from any vice chancellors, the alumni association, etc. Even if Amanda is fired, the next AD is going to deal with the exact same problems she’s facing. The only voice championing for athletics is her and (assuming nothing changes) the only person who’ll champion for athletics after her will be her replacement. Enough with this nonsense about the Board of Regents. It’s not their job to make anyone successful in athletics. They also played no part in Whitewater’s championship run in football and will continue to play no part if Whitewater go winless for the next ten years. Complaining to them would be like Detroit Lions fans complaining to Roger Goodell about the Ford family’s handling of the team for the past 30 years. Your comparison between the Detroit Lions and Roger Goodell to UW-Milwaukee and the UW System Board of Regents is inaccurate. In your analogy of the Detroit Lions, the UW System Board of Regents is the Ford Family (the owner of the Lions) not Roger Goodell.

The UW System Board of Regents approves the hiring and standards of the administration at UW-Milwaukee. The chancellor of UW-Milwaukee directly reports to the UW System Board of Regents. The notion that the UW System Board of Regents has no accountability over the chancellor and the administration at UW-Milwaukee is astonishing. The chancellor of UW-Milwaukee, Mark Mone, was appointed as the chancellor of UW-Milwaukee by the UW System Board of Regents in December, 2014. Here’s the undergraduate enrollment statistics at UW-Milwaukee from the Fall 2015 semester through the Fall 2021 semester. The change in undergraduate enrollment from the Fall 2015 through Fall 2021 at UW-Milwaukee was a decrease of -18.49% or -4,120 students. During this time period from the Fall 2015 through Fall 2021 the change in undergraduate enrollment at the flagship university of the UW System, the University of Wisconsin, was +11.36% or +4,021 students. Here’s the source of the enrollment data: www.wisconsin.edu/education-reports-statistics/enrollments/

To put the numbers in financial perspective: $9,254 avg year tuition * 4,120 students = $38,126,480 That is a lot of money lost (and a lot gained by UW-Madison).

And this is why it's intentionally kept such an unknown/secret that the UW System charter states that their are two flagship universities in the system.
Looks like the UW Regents, who are almost 100% UW-Madison biased, with virtually zero representation from the other flagship university Milwaukee, have the UW System running exactly as they want it to.

The idea to downplay the UW System Board of Regents impact on UW-Milwaukee is misguided. The UW System Board of Regents appoints the chancellor of UW-Milwaukee and the chancellor reports to the Board of Regents. Also, the Board of Regents is responsible for establishing policies and rules for governing the UW system, planning to meet future state needs for collegiate education, setting admission standards and policies, reviewing and approving university budgets, and establishing the regulatory framework. www.wisconsin.edu/regents/

All you've done is carry water and make excuses for the incompetence of UWM administration. It's almost as if you work for them or something... 🤔🤔🤔

Is anyone here satisfied with the state of the program?
Should we just all sit back and watch UWM slide back to a lower division?
Aren't you guys far more interested in answers at this point than questions?

What excerpts from my posts have I made excuses for the UWM administration? The UWM administration has been an abject failure. The UWM administration is a direct result of the UW System Board of Regents. The UW System Board of Regents appointed the UWM chancellor and the Board of Regents isn't holding the chancellor and his administration to account. There needs to be accountability!

I wouldn't expect you to agree. Every time you pass the buck on to the Board of Regents, you are giving Mone a pass. The Badger-dominated Board of Regents couldn't give two sh*ts about Milwaukee. They're too busy approving $80 million dollar renovations to Camp Randall to worry about Mark Mone. And your geriatric puppet of a governor isn't going to do anything about it, either. However, Mone CAN do something about this Athletic Dept., but there's a problem:
