But I'm also tired of hearing this fantasy take on the supposed unpopularity of our coach and program in those years in light of the putrid and entirely predictable results of AB's unprincipled firing of Jeter and her deconstruction of the momentum our program was building. I know I cannot convince you either. We disagree mostly on when the downfall began, which is partly based on differing views of Saint Rob. I'm tired of it too. We are only discussing it again because you brought it up in this game thread. We and others often get hooked into discussing our viewpoints each time the issue resurfaces. We and others will probably be baited again, perhaps as a result of our own initiation. Hopefully this will not occur nearly as much going forward.

Cactus, you are an insufferable combination of loquacious and petty.

Cactus, you are an insufferable combination of loquacious and petty. You forgot sunshine and rainbows. And pesky prick. Now that one was good, for someone named Cactus!😜

what does it say about the state of our program when being in or around 5th place every year looks like paradise in comparison? I cant imagine the next guy being worse than Baldwin, who at this point is clearly one the worst coaches ion school history. Baldwin is going to tie Ric Cobb for second in program history for most coaching losses (Cobb went 28-81 over 4 years) with his next loss.

At 52-81 tied with Cobb for second-most in D-1 and sixth overall following Jeter (184-170), Guy Penwell (186-145), Russ Rebholz (126-120), Steve Antrim (124-100) and Ray Krzoska (86-87). There was a lot of bad basketball here before we plunged back into D-1 in 1990.

There was a lot of bad basketball here before we plunged back into D-1 in 1990. Only 37 of Antrim's losses were at the D2 level, and he did get us to the Elite 8 in D2. Nonetheless, number of losses is kind of meaningless given some coaches did it in far more games (or fewer).
