Alcorn State is not to be looked past. And the Salukis look a lot like US the last 3 games..
I hope Ja Morant is OK.

Southern Illinois won 62-59. Alcorn lead at one point 30-13. Looking at the box score, crazy finish.

The next three opponents are ranked 329, 286 and 290. They are all at home. With or without PBJ these games simply cannot be close. Cannot be. And a loss in any of them would be catastrophic. No more excuses.

Wow I'm a Grade-A idiot. I posted an article on my Panthers blog (read by some 45 people) insinuating that Milwaukee Athletics was trolling the men's hoops team. Turns out the "Milwaukee Athletics" that tweeted what I interpreted as trolling right after a tough loss- was a Twitter category called "Milwaukee Athletics", not an AD-affiliated account. Corrected. I apologize to any in the AD who may read this. Ok, back to my hole in the ground.

5 things about Alcorn state
1. Alcorn State is currently 0-5 and 323th in Kenpom after a 6-13 record last season. 2. Alcorn State will not play a home game during during non-conference play. Their 1st home game is not until January 15th when they take on Texas Southern. 3. Keondre Montgomery (#5) is the player to watch out for. Committed to Mississippi state over other P6 school but only appeared in 6 games before transferring. 4. Teams are shooting 58% on 2pt shots against Alcorn which ranks 340th in the country. 5. Alcorn is abysmal on offense ranking 339th in adjusted efficiency on offense. This team is not good and there’s no reason to blow them out by 20 regardless of if PBJ plays or not.

I’m way past hoping for or expecting easy wins.
For this team and coach any win is a good win. I’ll take a one point win over Alcorn in a heartbeat.

Hoping for a win but never know what to predict with this program. I get what they try to do. Everyone does it and maybe that is what is wrong. Syracuse went to a 2-3 zone a few years ago and perfected it. They stopped the opponents three. They rebounded well and ran out of the zone. It is how we played on the playground. So it is about time to let them play and have fun. Maybe press and push. Use that 1-3-1 zone at times. This is still non conference but we need a win for our sanity. Go Panthers!!

That seems really high, but I’m of the opinion that Vegas always knows something we don’t. Maybe the Panthers will put together a complete game today.

I guess someone found drone footage of PBJ walking without a boot, going in and out of the Pavillion spinning a ball on his index finger like he was war-ready for today.

One thing I don't like about betting creeping more into Sports mainstream is it can lead to shady, nefarious activity by people (betting public) motivated by money. Spying on players and (only a matter of time) eventually information technology hacks of systems that contain valuable strategy and recruiting info, etc.
We should watch sports because we love the teams (or the sport itself) involved. Money can make things interesting where otherwise they weren't (main reason I've ever bet on any sports games), but I think seeing Draft Kings commercials in NFL and NBA broadcasts portends a very odd future unless nefarious activity is strongly punished (and teams keep their valuable data and private information, safe).
