Maybe playing the bench more, but hindsight is always 20/20. Not to mention, we got out reffed hard in the 2nd half. |

Lucas missed a tough jumper with 1:08 left. Ball bounces away that Brown let's slip out of hand that CSU dunked it with 1:00 left and was fouled on the play. Never recovered.

House money situation today, but they looked damn good through most of the game. Defense had clamps on for awhile. They just can’t shoot and have guys like Lucas chucking bc he’s big name recruit. 🤷🏻♂️

Let’s not forget, Cleveland St hit some absolutely terrible 3pt attempts and got the benefit of a foul on another poor 3pt attempt to get back in the game. Sometimes things just don’t go your way. The ball doesn’t bounce your way, and what can you do? Remember this next year. We will be hungry and expectations will be, and should be high.

Tough loss and end to the season. Think we would have given either NKU or Oakland a run for its money. Agree the refs were awful in the 2nd half. But the main problem we had was CSU was making shots which and getting FTs which meant we couldn’t run our offense in transition. Reverse happened to us down the stretch. When you miss shots, the other team is at a huge advantage to get easy buckets which is what we did in the 1st half. Credit to that freshman for CSU who kept hitting 3s which didn’t allow us to build on that 11 point lead.
Man... what a bummer.
Hopefully PBJ can bring our spirits up in the coming days/weeks and we don’t lose too many contributors to transfers. The portal has been crazy the last few days and the waiver rule isn’t going to help.

He had an awful shooting night but with the different presses and defenses thrown at us he did a fantastic job running the offense and distributing. |

Also, I know they'll never read this but all the props in the world to the way JT and Amir played tonight. I know they would much rather win the ball game, and I hope that's not their last game as a Panther, but if it is they absolutely gave it their all and played phenomenal.

it sucks that we couldnt hang on, but the fact we were able to make a run speaks volumes. that win over wright St will be remembered for years to come.

If the Panthers won, Cleveland State fans would be complaining about the refs missing the shot clock violation (the one that wasn’t overturned). Refs make bad calls but they generally balance out. I don’t think there was anything too egregious tonight.
The fact of the matter is that tonight’s game looked like any of the last 5 or 6 final games last year. The Panthers simply couldn’t finish. While the players and coaches didn’t give the game away like Wright State did a few days ago, they did give away a double digit second half lead. There’s no one to blame but the players and coaches. Admittedly, Cleveland State made some lucky shots, but the Panthers let up on defense as the game went on.
Dennis Gates is a much much better coach than Pat Baldwin. I don’t know that they have better players, but they built a winning culture there in two short years. I know there was some complaining about the bench for Cleveland State being obnoxious. I wish our team could be as fired up as they are on the bench. It’s only obnoxious because it’s not our team. I remember feeling that Brad Stevens’ Butler teams were obnoxious on the bench, but that was part of a winning culture. Not saying we need anything like that, but a winning culture wins games.
