I expect to be competitive the final 5 games, and no one should be giving up on the season right now. . We took one from Cleveland St a couple weeks ago, and certainly have the talent to be competitive these last 5 games. I haven’t heard no bell yet.

Like it or not, PBS will be our coach next year. There's no money and a high-ranking athletics department official is joined with him at the hip. Pray that we get PBJ to commit here and put together a 25-win, NCAA Tournament season, thereby enabling PBS to pop up on another program's radar. Hey, there's always a CHANCE!

How's this... Remember second game vs CSU? There's no doubt that Buppie has stolen your sunshine this season. 🤣🤣 Ha! I am an optimistic guy by nature (and it has served me very well thus far in life IMO) but that said, I feel I need to go above and beyond on the optimism on this board to balance the chi. Speaking of which, if the goal is still to get a bye, we still got this. Need to get the W tomorrow kiddos.

Well what can anybody do? We can't change the captain mid-voyage. PBS is our coach this year and next at very least. I think he's a very good person and learning as a coach. But I don't know how we can change the situation we are in. He and his crew run the ship. It's funny because, if PBS were to take us to the Dance on a crazy HLT run (who knows right?? we have the personnel) we fans would be so pissed to see him leave. College hoops is great. Like I said before I just pray we can build something that lasts. We were on our way once... I hope you are right, but I have seen no growth in Pat Baldwin as a coach from year 1. The team has 6 conference wins this year, but half of them are against IUPUI. I think there’s at least a 50% chance they don’t win another game in the regular season as I can’t see this team beating Northern Kentucky, Wright State, or Oakland in the coming weeks. If they lose out, that would give Milwaukee a 6-11 conference record, with a scheduling quirk that they played one of the worst teams in the conference four times. Pat Baldwin’s best season was his first season, when he was mostly coaching Rob Jeter’s and Lavall Jordan’s recruits. We are now in year 4, and all of the players are now Baldwin’s recruits... players he recruited (in theory) because he thought they fit his system well. Maybe Baldwin overlooks ego when it comes to recruiting players. Maybe he looks more for raw skill than desire to win. Maybe he just loses the players’ respect as seasons go on (a real possibility... I’m still angry about that Christmas story from years back... I can’t imagine how the out of town players felt.) But in the end, his players who typically are seen as good recruits don’t win games. I think that’s on the players, but also a huge indictment on the coach. Baldwin has gone from 6th in year 1 to dead last to 9th last year to another probable losing season this year. At some point, we have to realize he has been a bust. I’m not even sure our ceiling next year would be higher than 4th or 5th if PBJ decides to come here (though I absolutely welcome him to come to prove me wrong).

Unless a coaching change happens this will be a completely different team next year with PBJ not coming and I’m hearing up to 5 players leaving including a couple of freshman that’s leaving also players are not happy.

Change must be made. Should we bring up the goals for this program from the AD from the press conference after firing Rob Jeter. Wasn't it top 100 in the RPI and top 3 in the HL. Beating IUPUI (3), GB (2) and CSU once as they got lucky as the Vikings fell asleep is not setting the world on fire.

Man, you guys thought that Fran was a doomsayer! LOL!!! Fran was at least reasonable in his doomsaying. He was sour they fired Jeter and kind of flipped to a doomsayer. I mean, with all the constant negativity on this board about his dad, could anyone blame PBJ if he didn’t want to come here? Look, it’s PBS 4th year, so we need to see some competitiveness down the stretch this year, and a top 3 finish next year with all the talent we have IMO. He’s a good recruiter, most of us agree with that. We have a habit of hiring asst coaches and hoping they can learn how to be a HC quickly. That said, this program was not in a great place when PBS took over, so he deserves a little bit of patience. The late season struggles are getting old. We are a competitive team, and we have won some close ones and lost some close ones. It would be nice if we could see what happens the next 3 weeks without going full doomsday. Another game tomorrow. Let’s go Panthers 🐆!

Hmmm. So the "coaches" are checked out?
Now that is interesting (esp. considering they are the ones getting paid for this). I don't know where to start. I have lost optimism is my old age but I still try to look on the bright side.
So much flows from the top. Be it the AD or HC. We gotta find a formula that works.

It's one thing to be competitive ( you normally play close games), another to close out games and leave the floor with wins. We haven't had enough of the latter, and I'd argue we haven't had enough of the former either. Raw talent doesn't win games if it doesn't translate to execution. How much of that is players vs coaches, we could argue about that all offseason. Me personally, I'm in' put up or shut up " mode at this point. We have too much raw talent to have the record we do, both in conference and overall.
