Given the opponent, the length of the season and the fact that we sent out our two best starters, these were two really big wins!

The Mrs. and I are in the Lake Geneva area right now and listening to a table of Cubs fans lament the last two games. This is so sad ... Heeheeheehee!!!!

Arcia finishes a double shy of the cycle and the Brewers finish the sweep 6-5. Now 10-10 with 40 to play. The goal is to get to second in the division, with its guaranteed playoff spot.

3 out of 4, Nick. The goal is always the division title, right? Never give an inch.

3 out of 4, Nick. The goal is always the division title, right? Never give an inch. you're right. for some reason i thought it was a 3 gamer. Brewers lead the season series 4-3, with 3 games left, starting on 9-11. Thats a homestand for the crew. Crew is only 2-6 at home so far. Yikes.

By the way, we're pretty much on the same page, Nick: the BASELINE goal is a playoff berth ... and a .500 record (or 20-20 the rest of the way) should get us there. Here's one way of looking at that: if we can keep Josh Hader healthy for the next six weeks, I would expect to see him 20 more times this year. This is comforting!

Agreed. cant go to the dance without a ticket, and theres more tickets this year than normal. We're in 2nd place (technically tied with the Cards but they have 12 games to make up) a game ahead of Cincinnati. I'd feel a lot more comfortable if we started puttuing positive space between us and the .500 mark.

brewers could be within 2.5 of the Cubs if the Cardinals sweep the doubleheader today. Cards won the opener 3-1.
