I just sit at games looking at Amanda and Mone and think "How can they actually think this is successful and a healthy program?" Instead of asking yourself, why don't you go ask them?

i was at the Thursday game where they rallied to beat Cleveland State. but this was just a clunker of a game. Even teams like Bucky have 1 or 2 of those a season, even in great years. but the attendance has been an issue for awhile now, and things aren't getting any better. on Thursday there was maybe 200 fans ( the listed attendance was 1001, which I call BS on). You simply cant keep renting a place like the Arena when you cant draw 1000+ fans.

Remember attendance numbers listed in all sports are not who comes thru the gate.

Interesting comments by all. We all want the same thing. Wins and people in the stands. I went to see the women play the other day at Carthage. I think there were more people in the stands than at the last two Panther games. When I first met Baldwin I got the impression he was a little over his head which should be shocking going into a program which at best is mediocre. I believe his passion for the program is real. He does not like to lose, is competitive as anyone. Would want him at my side in a street fight. Soooooo, what to do? The incoming class looks good. Best in years. They need another point and shooter who can create and get to line, For now let’s be honest. You can’t win consistently with role players. This team lacks quickness and other coaches know it. These are coaching matters. They can be fixed. What can’t be fixed is an having an AD whon doesn’t seem to understand how important the men’s basketball program is to alumni, students, and future students. If she does get it then put a face on it. Take responsibility, stop delegating and support the program. Be honest and explain what is really happening rather than just rolling the dice. NCAA Division I and even II is a business. That may be unfortunate but I guarantee all if Gard and Wojiechowski don’t make The Sweet 16 they will be history. Step up Amanda. Most of us are tired of mediocrity.

She is horrible at public relations and building support for men's basketball. Seems to have no relationship or savvy with media, alumni and marketing. Mone is clueless. Maybe she is somehow despite all this balancing the budget and she puts a nice strategic plan on paper. Like Paul, I fear for the Panther Arena thing imploding and ending back at the garbage can on campus.

I wouldn't worry about not playing at the UWM Panther Arena (MECCA). Their lease goes until 2024. UWM has the option of extending it to 2029. The WCD wants Panther basketball downtown, maybe now just not as the #1 tenant.

When it becomes less expensive for a tenant to break a lease and negotiate a penalty than to stay in unused space, the tenant leaves. That's how commercial real estate works.
And God knows, our current tenancy in the Arena is the definition of unused space.
P.S. And don't assume the WCD wouldn't rather have the dates for tractor pulls, My Little Pony shows and rummage sales. At least they'd be able to open some concession stands.

Thanks for the lesson in how commercial real estate works. We are all smarter now.

Quick question: Would you guys still attend games if we move back to the Klotsche full time?

Quick question: Would you guys still attend games if we move back to the Klotsche full time? Good question. I went in with an open mind and hated that season at the KC. Maybe it had to do with lots of losing that year. I would not attend games on a fulltime rate anymore. I wouldn't worry about not playing at the UWM Panther Arena (MECCA). Their lease goes until 2024.

Sure. If they would play at the Klotche during for the one or two home games I am in the area for, I would go. I remember some entertaining games there in the Antrum, Cobb, Ryan and Pearl eras.
I would be very unhappy about a move back there. However, like Pounce, I do not expect it to happen any time soon.

Quick question: Would you guys still attend games if we move back to the Klotsche full time? I would probably go to the same amount as I do now. Somethings need to be upgraded for this though, corner seating could be added to get more seats. Otherwise, games against UW, MU, and GB would be too crowded. And something should be done with the bar/hangout area on the south end of the court. It looks tacky IMHO. The sound system would need an upgrade too, too much cracking and popping but that needs to be fixed no matter what. The conversion stand would require a expansion to accommodate the more guests coming in. Other then those things, the K works for a small schools BB team. It's just not what UWM could and should be in the future.

I just feel as if we would need to do a complete Gentile-like makeover of the KC to bring it up to par ... and I'm just not convinced that this administration is willing to undertake it. For my part, I'll continue to go to games unless and until we drop out of Division 1.
