Just so Lena Taylor and Tammy Baldwin are not part of it.

Say what you want about Braun, but for Baldwin to come in act like a dictator, develop no relationships with his players/team leaders, combined with that stunt he pulled with them on Christmas......he has only himself to blame and shouldn't be shocked. But 2 sweeping makeovers to the roster, in 3 years along with striking out with joining the MVC, could mean the dagger for this program. Did I miss something with the Christmas thing?

And he treats walkons like complete dirt. Don't think that team leaders like Stull, Nze and Bell don't take notice!

So odd that Pantherholic and MKEPanther45 aren't running around here telling everyone what a great sign this all is for the program, and what a TREMENDOUS job Queen Amanda is doing, and how she totally deserves that 5 year extension!

Sure. No names on the backs of their jerseys. You don't think that there's more behind that? How do you think he treats them on laundry day?

The one player who was out of town with family, was benched.

Why does it take a mass exodus for this information to come out?

Well, on the bright side, no one was going to games in the first place so attendande won’t drop by much.

Todd Rosiak's 3/27/18 article about Haas and Jeremy Johnson leaving stated the following: Baldwin said he doesn't expect to lose any other players to transfer..."In our conversations that we've had, we fully expect them to be here and they've all told us that they want to come back and increase their role and get better," said Baldwin.
Now, four weeks later we learn these three key veteran players are leaving. What could be the reasons for the disconnect? The only possible theories I can think of are:
1. Pat Baldwin was not being honest with Rosiak when they spoke last month, or 2. Something happened in the past four weeks causing the players' decisions to leave, or 3. Lack of open and honest communication between the head coach and players.
Regarding #1, my guess is PB really believed the players were going to return. I suppose he could have intentionally withheld disclosure about pending departures for recruiting purposes. However, I give him the benefit of the doubt that he practices a policy of honesty with potential recruits. There is no evidence to the contrary. I cannot think of any other reason he would have intentionally misrepresented the potential of player departures.
Regarding #2, what could have happened in the past four weeks? Did something go wrong during workouts? Did one player decide on his own to leave causing a snowball effect on the others? Did outside influences cause the players to suddenly realize they have better opportunities to play elsewhere? The Minnesota theory is an interesting one - if it pans out then we can definitely say Jeter's reign of terror on the program is at least 16 years, not just the 11 he was here. But we will see about that one.
#3 is my best guess - the departing players likely kept their plans to themselves until very recently, for whatever reason (e.g. fear of retaliation, concern for loss of certain privileges available to athletes, distrust of the coaching staff and/or athletic administration). If PB was blindsided with these departures between 3/27/18 and today, the responsibility for such lack of communication rests primarily with him.
We are all frustrated once again with the ongoing "one step forward, two steps back" phenomena that plagues this program. Today's news is one in a series of setbacks caused by years of disinterest in athletics by high level administration and dysfunction in the athletic department. This dates as far back as to Haidet's poor selection of a replacement for BP and all that subsequently happened (as nicely itemized in a prior steveisback post).
What is just as frustrating to me is there will not likely be any in-depth investigative reporting about today's news. Could you imagine if this would happen at Wisconsin or Marquette? The details would be revealed. However, because of the lack of relevance, I would be surprised if anyone in the media will bother.

JETER DERANGEMENT SYNDROME!!
John, you are truly out of your mind!!!
Blaming the current state of the program on Rob Jeter is like blaming Joe Biden for Donald Trump!
