Shocked to see your response was as ridiculous as your initial thoughts in this thread. So to paraphrase, you didn't go either? Nope. I'm not quite sure what you are trying to prove.

It speaks for itself because I didn't go to an exhibition game that was schedule like 4 days in advance?

They play three dimensional chess. We play chutes & ladders. That's the difference in strategic thinking now. And the type of "strategic thinking" that believes a 4-1 series is acceptable can be reclassified as the following:

ha ha....last time I used latin was as an altar boy before the big change under Pope John 23rd !! Could recite the whole confetior but had to quit when went to English. Could not get the hang of it. Then again maybe it was a blessing I got out while I could based on some of the unfortunate things that went on.....

Here's my thought for what it's worth. The idea was to raise money for charity with a game thrown together on short notice. That meant keeping costs down because there wasn't a lot of time to sell tickets. The Arena would have been too expensive. A place that big would've been mostly empty and it would've look like the fans of both schools don't care about hurricane relief. I don't know what the cost would've been for Klotsche but it wouldn't be free. A state school can't give away its facilities no matter how worthy the cause. Fran may have a point but I think he needs to consider what would've happened if UWM had turned it down. There's no way someone in the media wouldn't have found out. We'd have looked like we didn't give a rats ass about people who are suffering. Yeah that would help recruiting and attendance a whole bunch. Our rejection would have created bad blood that would've extended beyond Basketball. AND it would have been used as an excuse to NEVER renew the series again.

In reality, Marquette has been pulling the puppet strings for as long as I can recall, as it has maintained the upper hand on UWM through a series of shrewd manueverings. As such, I'm not sure that there's a way to create more "bad blood." Put another way: do you believe that MU now has warm feelings for UWM?

I am genuinely curious to know how many of us attended the long-awaited game. I was there. I haven't missed any of the six games this century, but I don't want to see us sign another 4-for-1 series (or worse) with them ever again. Both sides have some points here.
