One has to wonder. I know Justin and Amanda get along well. I have a feeling Justin has a voice in this.

I would be ecstatic if Jason Shay got the job. Hopefully they interview him at the very least.

I'm completely indifferent if a candidate has ties to the program or not. I understand Justin's reasoning but I don't think that should be a determining factor.

If nothing else, hiring Shay would be worth it just to witness Fran's self immolation soon afterwards.

Wonder what type of system he would run. In HL and mid-majors more of an up-tempo has a lot of attractiveness from both a recruiting and fan interest basis. Hopefully not a Princeton or even NU style. Just sayin...

Also noticed on the web one of the candidates is a guy named Dwayne Stephens. Doing some research he seems like an even more intriguing candidate although wondering if he is the heir apparent to when Izzo retires from MSU

Bummed. I want Baldwin at NU. Never been a fan of sleazy duh OSU and now it looks like they will have an impact on the only two universities I care about. By all accounts Pat Baldwin is a good guy. I hope he's a good head coach. (And Pat Jr. should still go to NU.)

How about hiring a coach who's called a timeout or organized a practice before?

How about hiring a coach who's called a timeout or organized a practice before? Might not be too many around at the D1 level, that would move for about the same level of pay. I guess we could see what the Alabama A&M or Chicago State coach is making.

I guess we could see what the Alabama A&M or Chicago State coach is making. What about someone at the D-2 or D-3 level? That seems to have worked nicely for us in the past. Stop treating this like an entry-level job! What is going on here? I think we deserve some answers.

Thanks for the article Jimmy. One of just a few scary quotes from it: “Great guy, poor coach.” Just another bad dream turning into reality...
