The doom & gloom brigade would reasonably respond with the following:

The Media Milwaukee open records request covers e-mails from what looks to be a two-week period in March. What did you think would be uncovered there but emails of support/disappointment and discussion of not doing the postseason and firing of Jeter?
I'm sure e-mails with legal counsel that were blacked out are about the firing, or how legal thinks they should handle wording things. Maybe there are other things in there, maybe not. Media Milwaukee's legal counsel believes the redaction is illegal.
I know the scope of other open records requests is much larger. Myself and others have referred to sabotage of the basketball program. How would that come out in e-mails from mid-March, when the damage is done? Whether or not you believe sabotage was in the cards, you know any evidence of such a thing wouldn't be in e-mails from mid-March. It would be much earlier, when there's the time for effects to take hold.
I have an open records request in with UWM and all the other HL public schools to compare financial records of the MBB programs. I have about half the schools so far. FYI I also asked for NMSU's records because of the comments from the NMSU president that he's had conversations with the Horizon League and they're showing interest. I'm interested in just how huge their travel budget is haha as well as other things. What causes someone like Jon LeCrone to think that a team just 50 minutes from the Mexican border is a good idea for the HL? I'm looking into it, going in with an open mind.

This is getting a bit ridiculous. Jeter has a new job and is moving on - when are you finally going to help the program move on?? It's getting tiring to read the non-stop sabotage talk that isn't at all accurate. Give it a rest. Sabotage would imply the conditions were better before Jeter got there and were made worse by Braun to make him fail. Practice conditions have never been good for the program and have actually gotten better over the years. Agreed they are not ideal but you're losing momentum and its only getting more clear that your agenda is to bash Braun for anything and everything cause you liked Jeter. Blacked out emails are going to happen with any personnel decision since there are privacy laws to consider. Anyone with any management experience would know that. Time to move on.

Blacked out emails are going to happen with any personnel decision since there are privacy laws to consider. Anyone with any management experience would know that. Time to move on. - My last blog post on the "let's fire Amanda Braun" storyline was April 6th. I've said my bit on that subject. My post in this thread was merely in response to the thread started by MUPanther and reply by PantherHolic. They wanted to talk about it, and I engaged them. This is what happens on message boards, even this one outside of, you know, three days at the end of March. - Whether or not there's authenticity to the calls of sabotage, people are welcome to speculate or not. This is a message board after all, yes? Isn't this where discussion of Milwaukee Athletics is supposed to happen? The media has been investigating, so I would point to their TV segments, articles and work as to what is perpetuating the talk. - If you'd see Matt Tiby's interview on PantherVision from Monday, you'd see that the court in the Klotsche Center was reserved for men's basketball this year for the hour after practice. I commend Amanda Braun for organizing for that. I should point out this isn't nearly the first time I've given Braun a thumbs up for a move since all this business started. Then again, I still didn't vote for Scott Walker in 2014 even though I liked his moves setting up the UW Online program. Back to the practice situation, Tiby did have a point - that setting aside an hour on the court right after practice is a bad time for individual work since most guys are dead tired after practice. I have more to say but that's all I have time for at the moment.

There are more than a few people who feel that the best way for the program to "move on" would be to do so without Amanda Braun running things. Releasing the emails with all the essential parts blacked out is utterly useless. If Braun had run the department competently, she'd be entitled to be proud of the job she's done. Responses like this one display arrogance without performance to back it up. Such a response makes it look like she has a lot to hide.

Sorry for the delayed finish to my response. - Watch me as I bash Amanda for bringing the basketball team back downtown, for getting the university to buy the naming rights to the Arena, for doggedly pursuing the construction of the basketball practice facility, for hiring the necessary academic staff to ensure the APR ban never happens again, etc. Have I been critical of Amanda Braun? Yeah. Absolutely. But since when is the athletic director - or the chancellor even - above reproach? How long is the "Fire Jeter" thread? - I don't understand what you mean by "losing momentum." Were you expecting something on the department every day? I suppose no one is really talking about this anymore. It's not like 130 pages of mostly blacked out e-mails were release Monday. Or that a former coach gave an interview where he slammed Braun hard. Or Tiby's interview where he blasted the athletics administration. Or Bill Michaels' half-hour today. By the way, has anyone listened to it? Jaw dropping. - My agenda is to ensure that LaVall Jordan has the best possible chance to succeed as head basketball coach - that's the goal. Amanda Braun's continued employment as athletic director has a negative effect on that goal. Believe what you want. Believe that I hate Amanda. That's convenient. But know I've sent out some tweets and made a couple message board posts. The media is still chasing the story, they're still putting out new information, and they're not doing it because of my blog. People far more influential than me have told them about what's going on.

So if you are supportive of the things you just listed, which are very substantial positive initiatives by the way, then why does she need to be fired? That a lot of work for 3 years on a job. All I'm saying is she has moved the program forward as you've even admitted. In addition, Lettenberger's email is basically the story I've gotten from the few people I've talked to in the department lately - jeter was kind of a jerk to a lot of them and not at all engaged in growing or marketing the program. I have yet to find someone who liked him that worked with him. Tiby's story also confirms his attitude. If I was the AD and my most prominent coach was starting practice by saying nobody wants you to succeed and I was working to get big initiatives like a practice facility accomplished i wouldn't be happy with him either.

How many times do I have to say that this isn't about Rob Jeter? THIS IS NOT ABOUT ROB JETERMatt Tiby's attitude? Sure, the guy has 'attitude.' He also might have more school pride than anyone, considering he is speaking up to try and instill change when he has no need to do so anymore.

That Nike outfit does look sharp on him! I sent Darren Rovell and e-mail asking him if Adidas would expect a chancellor to honor the athletic department's shoe contract with Adidas. He responded to me quickly:

So what I'm still waiting for is an answer on what the sabotage was and why firing yet another AD is the answer or even warranted. I don't think you've made a good case for firing Amanda Braun other than you don't like her. Everything you call sabotage is the circumstances the program has had since the 1990's. You complain we've had too many AD's which has led to instability in the program, yet you want more turnover. What you do seem to want is a better practice situation which our current AD is actually trying to address. So please tell me specifically, why do we need to fire the AD?
